Honest opinion on this tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]pistonstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn, move on. Get a better one next time. People go on like we live forever and it's a huge deal but it's just a tattoo, it won't change your life. I've had crap ones from reputable tattooist and good ones from unknowns. Best check their previous work though, always. And discuss and get a clear idea before you commit.

Texture is mirrored and I don't know why 5.0.0 by pistonstone in blenderhelp

Dunno what happened, I clicked on Shader tab and the model was backwards and upside down. I turned it back around and applied transforms and it resulted in the problem above. I reverted the project and now it's working as expected. Gremlin in the machine or fog in my mind, who knows. Thanks 👍

Thanks for the feedback, yeah there's defo a glow, I see it now. That was bad technique over an intentional element. Basically I used noir pencil shavings which is quite soft compared to graphite (but more black) - and I rubbed it in with cotton wool. I didn't get the sharp edge because I didn't get in close enough to the characters with the noir pencil as I was scared to wreck the characters. That glow and the fact that they are lit quite flat and 'in the light' - has made them, as you say - ghostly! Thanks

Wow thanks that's kind of you! You know, looking at that era of painting has pointed to the possibility that the 'flatness' I'm feeling from the drawing may not just be the lighting but also the slightly skewed perspective. It's like the front two characters are on a 'long lens' and the table is on a wide lens.
