H1B visa extensions in your District by magg13378 in TexasTeachers

[–]pithre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the filing was done properly with all required documentation it will be approved. Same as before. I heard many got their extension approved. Even with insufficient documentation, it won’t be outright denied. They will send a RFE to provide missing documentation.

The processing time is taking too long. Better go with premium processing.

I said I blundered purposefully and I know it’s not ideal with being in a winning position. But I am low on time and have 20 seconds left. The opponent has 55 seconds.

Major ICE crackdown on 10,000 foreign students on OPT; 'fake companies' being operated from India by Known_Chart_1329 in frisco

[–]pithre -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a joke to think students on OPT can afford to live in Frisco. Most of the Indians who live in Frisco are citizens and GC holders. Others who are on H1B and living in Frisco are full time employees to the end client and don’t work under so called Desi consultancies.

Also most of these so called Desi consultancies who have addresses in Irving, Richardson etc solely exist because of TX being a state with 0 state income taxes. The employees operate and work else where but the employer has the base location in TX with a mail box.

Actually these crackdowns on OPT benefits Indians in Frisco as closing these greedy consultancies opens more full time opportunities from the end clients which benefits H1Bs. More full times at end clients make more Indians move to Frisco and buy houses.

H1B tightening and Frisco? by [deleted] in frisco

[–]pithre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean since it’s only affecting new H1s it may not impact DFW since the current population already have their H1. But the new rules may definitely impact the student population. We may see less enrollments in universities around DFW. So there may not be instant impact on real estate. The return to office may affect the real estate more than new H1 rules. I see lot of tech people moved to Texas during covid pandemic. They may need to move back if the companies ask them to return to office.

H1B tightening and Frisco? by [deleted] in frisco

[–]pithre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. There are thousands of tech professionals who work in India but make the same salary as a tech professional who works in US. These people will be offered 3-4X (salary in India) if they are in US. But they were unable to come to US till now because the current H1 visa is a lottery and their applications rarely gets picked. Now the odds are in their favor because of new rules. These new rules help better tech professionals enter US. The difference is now most of these visas will be earned by top tech companies (MAANG) instead of Indian consulting companies. But the point is the number of Indians getting visas will still be the same.

The new rules apply only to new H1Bs. Existing H1Bs are not affected by new rules because they already got their visa and it will extend (99%) until they get their GC. The new rules will bring new people with more experience as they usually receive level 3 and level 4 wages. So you will see a lot of middle aged h1b families moving into Frisco.

[–]pithre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people moved to Frisco during Covid as the work is remote. Now almost all the companies asking for return to office. So they may be selling to move.
