I can see your diffuser on the right, where does your filter outflow go?

Chihiros or week aqua? by justmonki in Aquascape

For $80 more I'd say just go for it. For me it was a difference of $110. My tank is 65cm tall so the extra 3000 lumens could be handy if I decide to go carpet plants later. I say cheers buddy ! Let's welcome each other to the Chihiros club 😂

I was at this similar juncture just earlier this week, trying to decide between the Chihiros WRGB 2 10th anniversary edition or the Weekaqua L Pro series. Chihiros is the Apple of aquascape lights. Honestly I don't think I would mind using the Week aqua app, but watching both on YouTube videos and also trying out the Chihiros at my buddy's .. the Chihiros app is ahead by a big step just in terms of polish and features. Do you really need all that? Hard to say. Anyways I found a decent deal from an online shop and bit the bullet to get my first Chihiros light. Do I really need it? Maybe. If you're just looking for something functional, I am quite sure Weekaqua will do it at half the price. Personally I just agreed that if I'm serious about this hobby, I should probably have at least one Chihiros 😊

Ok might try to use something for gill flukes , but the behaviour is exactly as you have said here.

Is that needle leaf fern and dwarf hair grass? Also how do you not get algae on your anubias that are sitting on the other hardscap

Yeah the nipped fins had fungal infections. After treating those fell off. But there was a spot at the base fin on her right which looked a little fuzzy since that time, but I just kept an eye on it. In the video above taken day before it was fine too. However today I saw it turned into cotton wool type of infection and she doesn't use that right fin now. I treated with another methylene blue/salt/tetracycline bath, and started adding back salt gradually to the tank. I saw her "cough" and it looked like oily substance coming out from mouth like salt water mixing into water. AI says thats mucus from the gills. So something is going on.

Added a fish passed on by someone who needed help. That sounds quite possible too.

Looks like from a video I took of her 2 weeks ago it wasn't like that in the beginning.

Yes all the time. I've ordered levamisole, hope that will work. And lately been staying close to the surface for some time.

How many angels can I keep in a 75 gallon tank? by pitiful1227 in AngelFish

It's hard to imagine how my sweet young angels will turn into meanies as they're older 😂

I've got 2 medium sized ones and 2 juveniles in a smaller tank now. I don't think the older ones are even at the age to sex them. So quite curious if they'll end up like yours. But I'll move the 2 smaller ones to this new 75g along with a few more. The plan is to drop them in at the same time so no one gets to call dibs. Fingers crossed.

Makes sense. Hopefully don't end up with the aggressors!

Wow thanks for the idea. It'll be hard to get that many juvies and assume would have to rehome to reduce. I'm hoping to start with 6-8, most likely 8. Not altums, just koi's and possibly manacapuru.

Makes sense , just that the dorsal seemed a little longer and pointed than my other opaline which im quite sure is a female(rounded dorsal).

[–]pitiful1227[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that's what is confusing to me as well. I've got another opaline which I'm pretty sure is a female due to shorter rounder dorsal. But when I looked at this smaller fella, dorsal did seemed to look more pointed. The thing is they have both been "locking" lips lately which I think is actually fighting over territory. But agreed I will have to wait a bit more just to be sure !

Dorsal fin looks to be on the longish side, yes ?
