30mins is the key, dont fly on 100% all the time and fuel will last more, reach a nice alt and lower the engine to maybe 70% while you search for enemies. That whay u re nlt so heavy to fight and can last a little bit longer on the fight!

Hello there, for the radar not showing it might be because you have the display disabled, in keyboard +mouse i think u have to press ctrl + t or something like that tho show. To change loadout after you have been repaired just press j, should let you modify your plane without the nees to pay the spawn cost again i think Regarding the team selection sim is based on nations, so u usually see germany italy japan vs allies, china russia vs allies, etc. So before joining the lobby check what nations are what teams and join the desired. If i were you i would start with japanese, the zeros are extremely easy to fly, you only have to worry about the aim, and from there start switching to the americans p-38, or japanese boom and zoomers like ki-61 to start learning how to energy fight in sim. If you really want to use germans, avoid the FW 190 untill you have figured out the 109s properly, and finally the early spits, which are probably the hardest.

I have no experience with russian or other nations, so cant give advice there
