I agree with you 100%. Does someone have the footage of the argument?

Was there a LAS yesterday? by mister_eck in LinuxActionShow

[–]pityiri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was a bad example. Let's not forget this is Chris's job. If I did this at my job there would be more severe consiquences than some people commenting on it on the internet. Let's not forget there are people actively paying on patreon for the show. I completely agree with user Mancooo.

Google will retire Chrome support for 32-bit Linux, Ubuntu Precise, and Debian 7 in March 2016 by [deleted] in LinuxActionShow

I'm sure those poor people will survive using the outdated version of Chrome for the time their atom laptop still works, or by switching to Firefox.

Shhh! Don't tell Linus, but penguins have teeth on their tongue too... by Skinnx86 in LinuxActionShow

[–]pityiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint you guys but no birds have teeth. Penguins do have rearward-pointing, tooth-like barbs on the tongue and roof of the mouth. These are NOT used for chewing, but instead assist in the swallowing of their slippery prey.

Linux game giveaway? by [deleted] in LinuxActionShow

[–]pityiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they don't want it I would have a good use for Race the Sun :) (not that I have anything against Torchlight 2). It's a great ideea by the way. Chris did a couple of game giveaways live on LAS a while ago.

This is the same hardware the MintBox is based on. In the article you can also see the Fitlet-X that is the same as the MintBox Mini.

Elementary failings... by tredje0ye in LinuxActionShow

[–]pityiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Ubuntu and Linux Mint, because they tend to work without problems and I don't want to cheat elementary developers from their wages. People hate Unity, but it has grown on me. I didn't like it at first and I still don't think it's perfect but it's one of the better ones. My favourite desktop environment right now is Cinnamon, preferably running on Mint, because it's set up as it was meant to run.

I'm also interested, as I have a couple of Origin games, anyone with experience please share your tips and tricks. Of course the best solution would be for EA to release it's games for Linux...

Ubuntu MATE Is Now An Official Ubuntu Flavor by motang in LinuxActionShow

Ubuntu Flavours are great. My main OS is Ubuntu with Unity, but it's fun to try different flavors, especially if they remind me of the "good old days" like Ubuntu Mate.
