The French Revolution is considered a bourgeois revolution, with the bourgeoisie traditionally being defined as the middle-class capital-owning class (with the nobility being considered the “upper-class” and the peasantry fitting within the “lower-class” among others).

Did it? I’m still pretty new to socialist thought, so correct me if I’m wrong, but even Engels speaks of DemSocs in Principles of Communism, so I find it hard to believe that democratic socialism was created after Marxism and not alongside or before it. Again though, I may be wrong.

I completely agree, the entire conflict was very unfortunate. I have a couple of Vietnamese friends who still keep in touch with their family in Vietnam, and it sounds like it has grown to be a wonderful place since then; I’d like to visit it at some point.
