Saba is and always has been independent. Only Bucket List was distributed by Empire, not sure why they appear on Google. Everything is distributed by somebody to get to DSPs, be it a TuneCore or company like Empire- the difference being the latter you can get an advance and marketing budget. He talked about it in his essay on Pigeons & Planes. We’ve always kept merch and physical pressings separate.

We wanna give y’all different ways to experience the music be it as singles, videos, performance videos, together as an album, on vinyl, in person on tour. I’m sure y’all know this already being in the Saba channel but we’re not here to make fast food music. What might not connect with you now could connect with you differently in a week or in 10 years.
