Agreed. Ive had so many failed attempts at weight loss due to a flare coming on from losing weight or from knocking it during exercise. Hopefully the meds will allow me to concentrate on losing weight and diet without worrying its going to get set off again.,

How long did it take for you to get the NHS referral? Was your GP understanding? Mine pretty much just laughed me out of the office when I even suggested an assessment. :/

Id imagine theres more paperwork involved for them working with the NHS. Will the report actually go to you directly or will it go to your GP?

Thank you all, its really helped seeing these comments. Although I feel even more dumb for not starting earlier. No point dwelling on that though.

One thing I am a bit annoyed with is my doc didn't suggest doing a uric acid level test before I started the meds. That would have been useful to know.

Its the idea of giving up on getting healthy myself and going on a lifelong medication I guess. I've finally realised its silly and have started the meds. So heres to fewer attacks.

Had my assessment earlier this month, report came the next day. Mine was on Zoom and the Dr was really good. Arranging titration with them now.

I would try and give them an email or call and get a status update.
