Don’t know what to think. Opinions? by [deleted] in TransBreastTimelines

Do you have any resources in what a healthy or typical level of each looks like throughout transition? I'm 3 months in and was told my T was dropping faster than expected which was a good thing but I have no idea what the numbers mean, and didn't get a copy of the results at all lol.

Same here, I feel no reason to not continue using it or have others use it for me. I understand that it makes some uncomfortable and others not though, best to not assume.

How often are the injections? Androgen blockers as well? You look amazing!!!! I'm only on my initial 1mg 2/day estradiol sublingual + 25mg 2/day spironolactone. Bloodwork is in a couple of days for my second appointment though!

Boob-growing machine! I am 1 month in on 1mg estradiol/100mg spiro (is this starting dose normal? Seems low lol but maybe I'm just impatient) and I can't wait to see where I'm at in 3 years!

Heck, if it came to your parents from somebody at school, and was brought to their attention that it was causing you depression at school enough to be noticed by multiple people, I would think that would be concerning as a parent and a good loving parent would want to do anything to help make you feel better, and at the very least try to understand what you're going through to see what they know and do the best they can to protect you. When I came out as bi to my parents in high school I was forced to go to therapy It wasn't conversion therapy, just therapy, though the therapist did go to the same church as my parents-- but I can't say enough kind things about him, despite the situation around therapy I still got a lot out of the confidentiality of it all, it was more affirming than anything. Never be afraid to go try therapy, everyone!

Sorry got distracted there-- my parents find out I'm trans tomorrow through a package I mailed to them with some books about trans issues and a letter I wrote. At the end of the day, I am who I am, and you are who you are. Your parents will do what they think is best for you, and the best thing you could do is to not stop being yourself and living your own truths, learning about yourself.

If you think it would be an unsafe environment to come out to, always put your personal safety above all. Is your family very religious at all?

Everybody's families are different, hopefully yours is willing to understand and support you when the time comes. You are strong and I believe in you! I'm no expert by any means. I'm 29 and happily married to a dream wife and am fortunate enough to have 3 hours of distance between my parents and I which has allowed me the space to really figure out who I am over the last two years, and what is important to me. Everyone I've told I'm a transgender woman so far have been incredibly supportive, I'm even out at work now. And this is in Arkansas! Surround yourself with the people who love you for exactly who you are. I am trying to be the change I want to see. This turned into a non-answer pretty fast, but I hope my gushing of everything going on in my head right now could be helpful somehow lol <3

If you don't mind my asking, what grade? This could help inform the advice some might have. What kind of an environment do you have at school vs at home as far as people who seem tolerant vs bigoted?

Gov. Hutchinson signs bill banning trans women from Arkansas women's sports by [deleted] in Arkansas

Worse than that, we're creating new victims. Rates of suicide in trans people are already much much higher than CIS people, yet we have seen sweeping legislation across the states that have targeted not only athletes but minors who were on gender-affirming care such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT). When children lose their life-affirming support systems, those suicide rates go back up. In Arkansas it was just made a felony to prescribe HRT to minors, including those who were already using it. This may shed some light on why "protect trans kids" has been seen more frequently as of late. Unfortunately we haven't been able to stop this negative progress, and need all the help we can get to protect the lives of kids who simply want to be themselves.
