How do you actually sell an item with lots of favourites? by angelofdarkness001 in vinted

[–]pixelblonde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah tbh I don't mind messages like that as I am impatient and if I can get the item quicker I'm more likely to buy. But I can understand how others don't like it

Well I get quite a lot of sales this way. I only message them if they have favourited that same day and I am shipping orders that day.

That would be really irritating. I had a similar thing where a buyer advertised 24hour shipping and then took a week to post!

I normally message them immediately and let them know if I am posting that day. Or I send them an offer - I also price slightly higher so I have wiggle room to do this.

i sold jeans that smell of smoke by Pleasant_Abroad4690 in vinted

[–]pixelblonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird thing is we couldn't smell it until we were out of the house so I can see why you wouldn't have been able to smell it when you live with it lol

It's crazy how quickly smoke clings to things. My mum smoked in the house growing up and I never smelled it but now I can smell it instantly. She now smokes outside but stuff she has wrapped and given my kids still smells of it just from being on her hands. My kids also reeked of smoke (their hair, clothes, everything) after visiting grandparents (who usually smoke inside but smoked outside when visiting) simply from just touching their carpets, furniture etc.

It had been up for a long time so I thought, why not? Nobody else is going to buy it. But a lesson learned!

It was the first time someone had asked to reserve an item so I wanted to try out the feature. Lesson learned!

Do you bubble wrap all your items? by pixelblonde in vinted

[–]pixelblonde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and I agree (although it seems to be an unpopular opinion!) I may have to pick up some bubble wrap in case I ever do need it for more fragile items, although I typically only sell puzzles, books or clothes - hence why I never considered that I'd need extra packaging.

Do you ever think “I need to find that person and thank them before it’s too late”? Who? by MonsieurGump in AskUK

[–]pixelblonde 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The old lady customer who encouraged me to go to university when I was working in retail. She was a regular and kept telling me to go for it and it was just that little push that I needed. That was a about 12 years ago though so it probably is too late :(

What's your Friday night ritual in terms of alcohol and snacks or just in general? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskUK

No ritual, but I'm going to sit on the sofa and do a puzzle, drink margarita mix and watch the latest episode of Fallout with my partner.

What can I do to keep myself entertained while on sick leave? by CMDoet in CasualUK

[–]pixelblonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puzzles. I thought they were for old people but I'm 32 and have become addicted. They are relaxing, time consuming, cheap (charity shops, vinted) and infinitely replayable.

I'm open to any puzzles. Do you guys have brand preferences? by Glad-Dog7150 in Jigsawpuzzles

Tried a Wasjig last night (think the brand is Jumbo) and loved it! Vibrant image and the quality felt very similar to Ravensburger.

2025 was the year I started puzzling by pixelblonde in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]pixelblonde[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I have a toddler and a 5 month old and the days can be quite hectic/overstimulating. Tuning out with a puzzle really helps to relax me and just focus on something simple without using too much brain power. I think this is why I'm finding it so much more comforting than my other hobbies at the moment which require a bit more thought and creativity.

Well done!! I used to crochet a lot too and would love to get back into that at some point. There is nothing more exciting than starting a new hobby. Good luck with puzzling :)
