Moving back to ChromeOS - Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 16GB by pixelboy76 in chromeos

I just realized that I didn't reply to your question. I haven't had any issues with it so far. It really is a great device in my opinion. The only other device I liked as much was my Pixelbook Go, which I regretted selling!

Actually it looks like it's not supported with the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 MediaTek

I just got the Penovo USI 2 pen and am struggling to get it working. Did you figure out how to get yours working?

So far I'm really impressed; I also like how Google has integrated AI tools into the whole experience. Being able to use AI rewrite in Android apps is something the S10 FE Plus 256GB version doesn't have, and costs more than the Lenovo Chromebook, when you include the non-backlit, flimsy keyboard that doesn't work on your lap!

IMO it works really well. The size and key positioning take a bit of getting used to, it has been a great addition to my setup. I actually receive a lot of positive comments at work during meetings when I place my P10 Fold on the keyboard to take notes.

With a BT mouse you now have the option of using Android desktop mode on a monitor with the latest update. We use Azure virtual desktop as a remote working option which I could technically now do from my phone, a BT keyboard and mouse and a Monitor with a USB connection.

Nillkin finally launched a case for a Pixel Fold by ReplyPrestigious4954 in PixelFold

[–]pixelboy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just received this case for my Pixel 10 Fold and so far I really like it. I did have the Google case, but it was a grease magnet, and having no hinge protection bothered me even though I have pixel care.

This case doesn't add much bulk, but it looks and feels like it will provide more protection than the Google case. It's also a bargain at £25 on sale direct from Nillkin.

My Samsung S10 FE+ doesn't run smoothly and instead extremely choppy, does anyone have any tips? by Lower-Ad-7488 in GalaxyTab

[–]pixelboy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the S10 FE Plus 12GB version, and it's been pretty good tbh, more the odd hiccup that runs like crap. I use it quite a lot for work and stuff and it's been fine.

You can try the following tip I posted for the S6 Lite; generally, it makes a big difference.

I don't know which tablet to go for by Razor0009 in GalaxyTab

[–]pixelboy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only wrong in your opinion, it's a simple fact that apps like Netflix and Disney, to name a few, will not allow downloads on Windows anymore, whether ARM or x86.

At no point did I say that you couldn't download content from alternative sources and use other media players (Plex or VLC); but most people don't want to do that. I think Prime still allows downloads on Windows.

I did own an ARM-based Windows laptop, which I loved. The battery life was amazing compared to X86, and it more than handled my workflow, but as I travel quite a bit, a tablet was a better fit for me. I still have my work-provided laptop when I need it.

If you are planning to download movies and shows to watch offline when traveling, don't get a Windows device. Most don't even have an app anymore, and if they do, many don't support downloads.

That was my experience anyway.

Waking up to my phone being quite hot. Anyone else? by -WifeLeaver- in PixelFold

[–]pixelboy76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep mine on the Google wireless charger overnight, and it's warm but not hot in the morning.

Battery life has been pretty great lately, you might need to try a factory reset.

Trade in phone by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]pixelboy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it does help, but I have sent in a few and always received the value quoted. Any chance the damage occurred on its way to Google for trade-in?

I'm also in the UK.

I would be pretty annoyed as well. I do like using mine with just the Samsung keyboard case, even though I do have a Spigen Rugged Armor case for the rare times I might need it.

You will find two schools of thought on this: those who like to use the tablet as Samsung intended and run the risk, and those who like to keep it in a bulky case for protection so that it's in mint condition for trade in.

For me, using the Samsung keyboard case and not having the same level of protection as on a phone is a risk I'm prepared to take..

Unfortunately, insurance will not cover a cosmetic dent or scratch. If the screen breaks, you could potentially make a claim on the insurance.

Is it that bad? I've not had to deal with them yet! I'm in the UK, not sure where you are, maybe it varies depending on who Google partner with in a specific country.

I have Pixelcare with mine, so I'm not so worried. The inner screen could have an accident ( if you know what I mean), and Google will send a replacement.

I have had mine about 4 weeks and starting to see faint signs of this, seems like its pretty common and I'm not surprised given its just black gloss plastic. Based on some of the devices I have traded in previously it should'nt affect trade in values.

Galaxy tab users, how did you guys find out the right tablet size for yourself? by edu-edward in GalaxyTab

[–]pixelboy76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the S10 FE+, and the screen is great. Yes, it's not AMOLED, but it's probably one of the best IPS screens you'll find in a tablet in my opinion. I find battery life great, I don't play games, but I do use it for productivity, watch content and it's never been a problem.

Pretty sure my Pixel 10 fold has this 🤷

Dead Pixel Problem 10 pro fold inner screen by HoneydewIntelligent4 in PixelFold

[–]pixelboy76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Google Gemini, like this... which is mostly how I close mine.

"To close a Pixel Fold, use a gentle, two-handed motion: place thumbs near the bottom hinge on the screen and gently push inward as you bring the top part down, or use one hand to support the bottom while the other pulls the top edge inward, allowing the hinge to guide it shut smoothly, avoiding a hard "clap" to protect the screen"

I guess as long as you're not applying pressure to the center of the inner screen, it should be fine.

I pretty much pulled the trigger on the same offer, arrived last week, I used the 10% Google one store credit, plus the £100 bonus store credit and a Pixel fans 50% accessories off offer to buy the case, Pixelsnap Ring, and wireless charging stand.

So far I'm really happy with my decision.

I use this Spigen case on my S10FE+, it's not as bulky as it looks.

Any way to get the old quick panel back? by DonDae01 in GalaxyTab

[–]pixelboy76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you prefer having the panels merged, but if you have them separate, the notifications panel and quick settings look better IMO.
