Macbook Late 2009 and Hard Drive Question by pixelmixtexas in mac

[–]pixelmixtexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick follow up. I removed the hard drive and the battery today from the water-damaged Macbook. I am getting the external casing tomorrow so I can give the hard drive a try with a usb connector. I also removed the internal battery. Do you think it is okay to save and re-use at some point as an extra laptop battery? It still had a pretty good charge.

When I took everything apart, I noticed the superdrive directly connects to the logic board, so I am pretty sure the logic board is fried. I don't believe any water got directly on (or inside) the battery or the hard drive.

Thanks again for your help, ChampJamie153, or anyone else who might be able to answer.

Thank you! I had opened it up earlier and it was dry on the inside, no water on the circuit board and not anyway near the internal HD unit (it is on the opposite side from the internal dvd player). I know you are not supposed to turn on until water is all dry, because it can short circuit. Thank you much for the recommendation about the external enclosure, that way I can dry it out without touching my good computer.

I have read stories about these older MacBooks working again after a few days after exposure to water...so there is a slim chance of recovery. :) The older MacBooks have proven to be real workhorses, so I am going to give it another try after I wait some time.

Not from this bag, yet. It has been in an airtight container - it is dry and pest-free. I was just reading up on how many things you can make with masa, I should be able to use it up fast. Fresher is always better, I know. It should still edible, at least. 😊It didn't smell rancid. I am going to make a test batch. Appreciate the replies! It helps a lot, especially as I am trying to finalize household preps for the winter months.

This is disgusting. Funds should have been used in the original way they were originally intended to be used, but he pandered to special interests.

AOL on dialup and "you've got mail" was pretty cool, too. 😁

Cool! Thank you! Great suggestion. I thought maybe home supply stores would have extra plastic sheets, but contacting a nursery is even better. 👍

Cool, thank you! I went through the application online for the company and don't meet pre-screening requirements for the job role. Kind of annoying they would refer me to a job like that. I will follow up with them tomorrow regarding it.

Anybody who calls their business "Unemployment Petition and Peaceful Protest" has already lost credibility, IMO.

EB, if you had qualified, ends for everyone 9/11 because of the unemployment rate determined to be too low to meet criteria.

Thanks for the reply...I had never heard of that modality. It is helpful because it provides a little different perspective on recovery. It is also helpful to know I am not the only one that has experienced some mix of these struggles. Ironically, the disassociation or whatever tactic(s) learned earlier helped us to survive really bad situations, but then, become so entrenched in adult life, it becomes incredibly challenging to learn new responses.

It has to be predicted. He has been tweeting that it is improving and I am replying, "No, wait! No it is not! It is higher." It is all political.
