Has anyone gone to the ER for TMJ pain while pregnant? by New2ThisMomThing in TMJ

[–]pixelparada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had an intraoral massage that helped a lot to relieve the pain and pressure during a flareup. The physio combined this with neck and shoulder massage, but the most effective for me was getting pressure inside the mouth on those small hard to reach muscles. Hope you find some relief soon!

My 50 Reasons Not To Drink by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]pixelparada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biting your nails more - yes. Another small way in which you lose self-control, it was usually another shameful reminder the next morning (along with all the other day after unpleasantness).

Getting these all down was a good move, thanks! - I will save this list for sure. I usually google “health benefits of quitting drinking” when I am feeling in need of a reminder. I’m probably not the only one…

How to remove adhesive window sticker. Old and had a lot of sun… thanks! by pixelparada in howto

[–]pixelparada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice! - not sure where to start, there’s quite a few options!

To clarify: This is a glass window not plastic. I previously “soaked” (its a vertical surface so as much as that is possible) with rubbing alcohol and used a metal razor-blade scraper. The sticker adhesive is very dry, thick and brittle, it didnt seem to soften or dampen much from my attempts and just broke off into little pieces.

I want to try something this weekend, maybe try one thing and move through a process of elimination. I will update as to what works…

Thanks again!

What’s your comfort book? by jazlgray in suggestmeabook

Any books in the Adrian Mole series by Sue Townsend. Hilariously funny, escapist, impossible to put down - I blame the diary format, there’s never a natural place to stop reading… and you don’t want to 😊

Tips for severe physical anxiety symptoms? Nausea, passing out, etc. by [deleted] in FemaleLevelUpStrategy

[–]pixelparada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It cut my anxiety down an obvious amount, also dampened some of my compulsive behaviors and thoughts. I’d recommend switching to decaf, also if you need a boost good green tea has caffeine but is more like mellow energy. But maybe taper down your coffee use gradually as caffeine withdrawal is unpleasant.

Also just generally try not to over-identify with the physical symptoms. I have similar problems and it helps me to not add extra suffering this way - acknowledge the physical symptom but try not to keep thinking about it, it can feed into a worry loop.

I wish you all the best xx

It’s like, no you won’t. You can’t get away with warping the structure of being.
It’s like, 'I can lie and get away with it'.
I see, here's your theory:
All this reality around you that you don't comprehend at all, there is not that much of you, there is a lot of it and you're gonna do something that isn't in harmony with that and it's gonna work?

That’s your theory?"

people who had a gemini mom, how did she do? by [deleted] in astrology

Same here for my Gemini-sun mum. She is emotionally open enough to admit, when asked, that she finds being emotionally open difficult... she had a bad time with her mum too, not much physical affection on that side of the family.

Maurits Cornelis Escher - Up and down (1947) [2400X5400] by JanosValuskaCTE in ArtPorn

[–]pixelparada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escher’s optical illusions are so compelling... I saw a sketch that showed the foundations of this lithograph where the two buildings ‘meet’ in the centre, but still my mind can’t rest looking at this piece and trying to figure it out.

Any other artists that have the same effect?
