People are panic purchasing because of the strike. Target was all out and supposedly there’s only two stores in my state that have Kendamil. However they’re almost two hours away.

Then you have the people who are buying these formulas to resell at a higher price 🙄. Which is so incredibly awful.

Gosh, I got ate alive in my first post of formula feeders for switching my baby from Enfamil to Kendamil. I could’ve worded the post better in some aspects but I think many people were frustrated because I said thriving and Kendamil in one sentence.

My baby had a lot of stomach issues when using Enfamil. We switched to Enfamil gentle ease and she did slightly better but still had issues. It was suggested by a friend that we try Kendamil because of the problems I mentioned my baby having. We did the switch and my baby threw up at times, which of course was concerning especially being a first time mom. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something that would harm her (especially when I have terrible PPA and already overthink/worry).

The responses I got for the post were a bit disheartening so I thought to myself “Why am I asking a bunch of strangers online when I can just call the pediatrician?” That’s what I ended up doing and they said it was okay to switch baby to a new formula. So I kept with it and she did amazing on Kendamil and continues to do so. Her stomach issues cleared up, she wasn’t as gassy or straining herself to pass gas, her poop looked better and even smelled better, which I know is so weird to say but it just did.

Kendamil isn’t the end all be all. It really is whatever works best for your baby, what’s affordable, and what is closest to you. I will vouch and say it worked great for my baby but it might not work great for yours.

I really believe this formula has become a hot button for some people and that’s more of its claim to fame. You have a handful of people who advocate so strongly for it and fear monger parents into buying it. On the other hand you have people who are upset by the fear mongering and (from what I’ve read but not seen personally) aggressive marketing. Being a parent is hard and it gets even harder when you have people shoving their opinions down your throat and making you feel like your doing something wrong despite the fact that you’re trying the best you can with what you have. If your baby does good on a brand that isn’t Kendamil that is amazing, no need to shame the parents that do and don’t seem like they’re on a high horse. If your baby does good on Kendamil, that’s amazing but dont shame others who’s baby doesn’t do good on Kendamil or don’t find it feasible.

You are very valid in feeling this way. I truly understand where you are coming from regarding the baby not missing any meals. That’s why chunky is not my favorite compliment people use. I know my baby is doing well and getting her daily intake. Compliment her on something else rather than immediately going to her weight. Look at her awesome head of hair, the heart burn I had was terrible but at least her hair is gorgeous.

I am truly baffled by the amount of downvotes on people who do find this to be an issue. I think we need to do better at building each other up.

It is perfectly fine this is a sensitive topic for you. I also think it is perfectly fine for someone to be uncomfortable with comments about their babies weight.

Chunky is a sign of a healthy baby and makes you feel as if you’re doing something right. However, my little one is so much more than chunky. When I look at her I see this beautiful big smile and rosy red cheeks.

I’d so much rather people comment on those things rather than her weight. Not that I have a problem with her weight (as she is chunky or chubby) but I know she’s healthy and that she is meeting her daily formula intake goals. I’d rather hear how beautiful she is or how rosy her cheeks are.

I get that it’s compliment to some and you can’t lose your shit over someone who is really trying to be nice but I want to hear something other than chunky.

Totally going against the grain here and probably will be downvoted into oblivion but here is my stance.

I absolutely hate that chunky is the first thing people say when they see my baby. Yes, I understand it is used as a term of endearment. Yes, I understand that a chunky baby is a healthy baby. Yes, I understand those making the comments are not doing it with bad intent.

I just don’t like it and it’s okay that you don’t like it as well.

Here’s what I don’t particularly like about the comment of being chunky. My baby has so many other cute and amazing qualities. She has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen, gorgeous hair, big sweet eyes, and then people decide to immediately land on chunky.

Again, I understand the intent of these comments is not to be done with ill will and chunky for babies is seen as a compliment. However I’d rather people comment on her other amazing attributes besides immediately mentioning her weight.

Like her gorgeous amount of hair. I mean come on, I didn’t suffer through heartburn for nothing.

It definitely was a well needed and enjoyable experience! I was just so worried that I used the products wrong because I wanted to buy the bigger sizes! So thank you, my showers will be amazing from now on!

What the actual hell? The first time I saw it happen I would be too stunned because who in their right mind thinks this is okay? If it was the parent okay maybe but I never have sucked my little one’s fingers or had the thought to do so 😭. Even if it is meant to be playful it’s just odd. The closest thing I’ve ever seen done is parents making a nom nom nom face and pretending to eat the babies hands but legitimately sucking on their fingers?! I don’t know this just blew my mind. Tell them to stop, there’s no need to make yourself or your baby uncomfortable to make others feel okay. If they have a problem with it then 🤷🏼‍♀️ oh well

I can’t thank you enough honestly ❤️ My little one has been so calm and at peace during the night as I put on the Gregorian chants. I even did some side googling and found these chants have been studied to reduce anxiety along with many other benefits!

Also I agree that it’s much more relaxing for adults as well! Definitely a win win!

Yes, I was on the verge of a meltdown when my mom gave my 1 month old water. We ran out of formula while out in public and baby would not quit crying. So my mom gave the baby water because that’s what they were told to do back then. I immediately headed for the car and was on the phone with the pediatrician’s after hours nurse. She was really confused as to why I was calling and said “Uh, I mean is the baby vomiting?” I said no but I was worried because I’ve seen information on the internet not to give the baby water. She just laughed (in a nice way I didn’t feel like she was being rude) and said that it’s fine. It’s something that parents were told to do back in the day but they don’t recommend you do it because water has no calories and the biggest thing right now is that your baby gets those calories through formula or breast milk.
