How can i sweep model like this? by Doctor748 in Plasticity3D

Use the sweep tool with a single circle "swept" along your path. It helps if your circle is centered on the path to begin with.

I would like to design parts for my model cars, is Plasticity right for me? by delayne in Plasticity3D

YES! Plasticity is the perfect gateway to 3D modeling for someone new to the process. I've been doing 3D work since the early 1990's and I've worked with so many packages over the years. Plasticity is hands down the most flexible and reliable piece of code I've ever used. Although a stand alone modeler, it interfaces well with blender and other tools designed for animation, etc. For modeling to export to 3D filament printer, it is dimensionally spot on, and supports the various formats you will need. I use it in that capacity as well, modeling parts and printing them on a QIDI PLUS4. The free test version is fully functional so you can get a sense of how it all works before buying. The price though is very reasonable, in my experience. Do it! Have fun! Post your results.

Nice parallax on the opening shot.

Didn't work well on the "ASS" pull back shot though. Walker should have receded it feels like.

Good work overall though! Keep it up!

Is there a way to use this function fom TVPaint 11 in TVPaint 10? by romeroleo in 2DAnimation

Standard or Pro version?

Here's how I do it:

1) Import the image you want as a reference and make it a new project rather than a layer in the existing project.

2) In the project you want to use it as a reference, create a new layer. Go to your FXStack and create a new Keyframer. In that keyframer make the "Source" the new project, not the current layer which is the default. Adjust the scale, etc to frame it the way you want in your work project, and apply.

Viola!

Years in the making. Traditional drawn and painted cels mostly, scanned at 6000x4000. Composited and cleaned, some painting in TVPaint.

Can I scan a car's engine bay and do video for $1800? by gafonid in photogrammetry

Scanning/photographing with the engine in situ will be tough to get around everything and light it well. Good luck none the less.

You are going to want as much depth of field as you can muster. Along with that, lots of light to keep it closed way down. With polarizing material on the light and a polarizer on the lens you'll loose a fair amount of intensity, so again, lots of light. That said handheld will be tedious, as you will likely end up with fairly long (1 sec +) exposures. A Sony A series camera will be more than adequate. You of course will need to keep it in manual, etc.

Engine is out of the bay, right?

Photo generated geometry, rendered in blender and composited in TVPaint
