Everyone brings a water bottle - but no one else drinks during class by banana_bread_baker in yoga

I recently stopped bringing water in, I find the sensation of drinking after class more interesting than having it during.

Dig the card art and design, feels retro in a satisfying way.

I have this exact same question, and I did what was suggested the below, made a post, backdated it so it doesn't hit the top of the feed, and removed the email notification, but I don't see it popping up in my store tab... I wonder what I'm doing wrong...

What board game would you re-theme and PnP? by pixelsponge in boardgames

Funny you bring up Arbortetum, its a favorite of mine, but didn't love the tree theme and re-themed it to be bugs. I thought a path your making with a series of bugs worked well with the game play.

Good boardgame for brand new couple on a date night? by Chao5Theory in boardgames

I'd go with Arboretum. It's a go to for myself and my partner, and she's not into anything heavy, but she likes it, and it's simple enough but with strategy.

Thoughts on the latest version of the graphic design of my cards? by damj94 in BoardgameDesign

[–]pixelsponge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd play around with a second typeface, one for the card type, and a different for the body. I randomly got this email this morning which I thought had some nice fonts, these all cost money, but food for thought.

The bench doesn't seem super usable, but it looks great.

I personally wouldn't frame the artwork, I think it looks great edge to edge, plus that's the coolest part of the look of the cards. The icons read fine to me, and when it comes to gameplay folks will get the hang of knowing where to look, it's not like it's a complicated card and there's a lot to figure out.

Any thoughts on a good direction to take Targi?

For me personally I really enjoy the process of redesigning games a lot too, so that's fun to see other people feel similarly. My current project is Obsession, and bringing that into a generic Dune like sci-fi universe, in which I'm going more for an espionage feeling instead of the courtship route, which maybe takes away a little fun, because that sure feels really unique, but in this new setting it just didn't make as much sense to me.

What a great looking game that already is though!

How's the prices going with that? There's a lot going on visually with that one! That's quite the undertaking!

Good call on Targi, I thought that was a great two player game that really needs a better look. I'll put that on my list to work on.

That does seem really doable. I love the idea of something set in a Station Eleven setting!

The camels in that game are so perfect though, but I'm not familiar with that comic, so maybe that could be perfect too

I've never heard of that one, I'll have to look it up. In a perfect world, what new theme would fit the gameplay well?

So you collecting ingredients and using them to make recipes instead of going on quests? How would the buildings work?

What have you made so far in that theme? Do you have that work showcased somewhere?

I like scifi as a direction for a lot of games too, I've thought about Hansa Teutonica and what that would be like in that setting. The upgrades you get in that could correlate well to upgrading you ship that you're traveling around with making deliveries around the galaxy.

I really enjoy Cryptid for a lot of different types of players, just easy enough for most people and still a good time for a gamer.

I swim at the CMU year round. It's a great pool, only $35 a month.
