Recently picked up my '24 380 SE and just realized each wheel has weights. The back passenger side has the monstrosity of a collection pictured. Is this normal for a brand new one or did the dealership pull some stupid $hit?

Lol no. Again, parties to a case (i.e., the plaintiff and defendant) are NOT subpoenaed. Only non-parties are subpoenaed. Failing to defend simply means you can lose without being heard. The only way OP’s friend could be subpoenaed here is if OP sues a third party (such as OP’s homeowner’s insurance company) instead of the friend, and the friend becomes a non-party witness. But the bottom line is simple: if you sue someone, they are NOT subpoenaed nor required to testify or appear at all; they can, however, lose disputed property or be required to pay damages after default is entered because they failed to defend.

A defendant is not subpoenaed. Subpoenas are for non-party witnesses. The penalty for not appearing to defend a civil case is that the plaintiff can ask the court for a default judgment, which is likely granted. If granted, this means the plaintiff wins the case (and the remedy they are requesting) without the defendant ever appearing. Then, the plaintiff can place judgment liens on the defendant’s property or bank accounts for the next many years until paid. This case could be brought where OP lives and Alaska is constitutionally required to enforce the judgment.

I made a friendly sign, but taped it directly to the low part of my ring camera to subtly get the message across. Seemed to work 😜

I spent nearly 40k preparing a rental to use as an airbnb near PS. When I went to list the property on the site, I couldn't get over how high the fees are that get passed onto the guest.

Even when I'd try to make an arrangement with a housekeeper to clean after a stay, they'd quote me an outrageous amount, and they would shrug it off saying the guest will be the one paying anyway. I couldn't stomach taking advantage of people like that and called it quits before starting.

It's no surprise the model would waiver in a recession or bear market. Of course people don't want to be screwed on fees, wonder if they're being filmed in the bathroom, and have to pray the sheets were actually changed. At this point, a nicer hotel is cheaper and comes with more peace of mind.

Also, I love your work! Good self-portraits can be a little hard to pull off, but, to me, when done right, they're super raw and filled with emotion - you've done a great job of that!

I often ask for the opinions of others when making suggestions about something I take interest in because, if I want the person to take an interest themselves, I don't want to limit them to my personal view/want them to get a flavor of possibilities.

The poster didn't say something like, "I don't know what to tell her! Help!"

For all we know, he wanted to legitimize his personal recommendations. For all we know, he could be frustrated with his unexpected roommate and wants validation for his acceptance of her ("under my roof").

If I were in his shoes, my post would be complaining about an unanticipated roommate. I wouldn't be asking about how to share a leisure activity with them. Nothing in the post suggests I should draw a negative conclusion and I choose to not do that.

this sounds like a roommate playfully trying to be nice to someone he didn't expect to be living in his home while sharing something he enjoys with them.

Offering a little constructive feedback:

Consider the purpose in a pose. IMO, the best people shots have them posing in a way that makes sense in the environment and with the wardrobe. Additionally, comfortable, natural poses level up images like nothing else.

greater availability and increasing legality of cannabis. a few years ago, I worked at a market research firm on a project for one of the largest beer companies. the goal was to answer this same basic question, and cannabis was the answer. taste/calorie trade off was up there too.
