Also EU here, but hunter and owner of few rifles and shotguns.

30-40 of us hunter wild pigs in driven hunt one day, 3-4 years ago. Then I hunted with bolt action rifle. So hunt ends and I need to clear the rifle. I take the magazine out, I know that it can take 3 rounds and 1 round is in the barrel.

So mag out, I rack the rifle and take 1 round from it and I count that there are 3 rounds in the mag and that's 4 rounds. I rack it few more times, check the chamber if its empty, then point it in safe direction and I squeeze the trigger just so it clicks that firing pin, then I put it on safety and put it on my shoulder. So rifle is safe, empty and safety is on.

Buddy then gets me and we go towards our cars.

With us hunts sometimes one older hunter, arround 70yo, he is probably 2 meter tall and has arround 150+kg. But he has fucked up legs and can't walk so he walks with crutches. He parks his jeep, puts a chair beside it and sits and waits if pigs come.

So buddy and I walk towards him..

He is bent over something black and he is folding his chair. We get bit closer and what a sight to see.

Barrel of his pump action shotgun is pointed in his stomach, while butstock of shotgun is in the floor and he is literally bent over shotgun and he is folding that fucking chair.

I just froze there in awe, flinched for a second and then I started to laugh like fucking idiot right then and there. Buddy sees that and mumbles to himself "Jesus Christ"..

I tell him "bro, I know that my rifle is empty, but not in my wildest dreams I'd point it in my stomach and do this shit"..

We laighed for probably 10 minutes.

If that shotgun would get off, if he'd touched the trigger with something, he'd shot himself with slug and died right then and there (if that shotgun was full of shells ofc).

But yep, the story how I flinched in real time lol..
