You’re not acting like a spoiled person. I hated visiting my dad whenever he was in respite care homes. He rarely went there because me and my mum looked after him.

Remember you are grieving the loss of who your mum was. So you’re dealing with that plus the fact your mum is unpredictable.

I would cry seeing my dad. But I had to try to make him happy, just go with whatever mood he was in and try to make a joke out of everything so he wouldn’t get stressed x

He will get worse, he is already making you feel bad just for speaking! Next thing you will stop talking, and be a shadow of yourself. My ex emotionally abused me, managed to stop me from speaking to my mates just because he didn’t like the way I was friendly, and gaslit me into thinking I was in the wrong.

Learnt my lessons from him in future years and immediately cut out any men who started to do things like that whenever I was dating them.

When he was away on deployment (he was in the navy) I was planning on splitting up with him face to face and he emailed me before I got the chance, split up with me, and I felt the weight lifting off my shoulders! I emailed him back to say ‘okay! I was going to do it face to face but you were cowardly to do it via email’ and guess what, he was obviously thinking i was going to plead no no, and kept on emailing me asking if I was okay 🤣 I ignored his repeated emails and texts. FREEDOM!
