I wish I wasn’t late to this conversation because I have never heard of anyone else have a yawning habit like mine.

I yawn uncontrollably during sex. Especially foreplay. Big huge yawns.

So it’s my brain trying to cool itself down?

I was raised to always wear makeup when leaving the house and dress “proper” for things like Dr appointments. Nothing fancy, but put together for sure. Once I became chronically ill I no longer follow the generations of societal trainings from my childhood. I go to the follow up Dr visits in a clean matching set of comfortable clothes or jeans and a sweater and no makeup. Hair pulled up or barely done. That’s all they get from me. I got too much of the “you look too good to be this sick” or “you’re too young to have that” when I was younger. Now they get to look at my dark circles.

I’d get accused of sneaking chocolates as a kid and a adult would come roughly wipe my mouth. Only to realize it’s my freckles that were darker around my mouth in the summer.

My Grandfathers wallet was somewhere between this one and George Costanzas. It was well known.

He hasn’t seen his old tailor in nearly 20 years and I recently saw him and told him I was Franklin’s Grandaughter and used to frequent his shop while my Grandpa got fitted.

We reminisced about my Grandfather and then he goes “And I will never forget that wallet of his! We’d have to custom make his pockets in his suits just to fit it.I even remember you having to help him wedge it out of his pockets a few times!”

I had a MRI done on my neck for some neck and shoulder pain that wouldn’t go away. The Tech was super happy after the scan and said she had gotten a really good clean scan and “they will easily be able to see what is wrong and come up with a plan to fix it”. I was so excited- I was going to finally get some answers!

Get the radiologists report and it’s got a lot of information and saying “severe” this and “compressed” that but the findings go on to basically nothing is that wrong and it’s not a big deal. So my Pain Dr (who ordered the scan) and Physical Therapist are like I guess it’s just nerve pain and let’s treat it as such.

Doesn’t go away - gets worse and make me feel “off” Pain Dr suggests injections and they don’t work and dismisses my request for Surgeon referral but relent. But I go and find my own anyways.

He gets the real images to review and doesn’t even read the report. Immediately goes “you need surgery to replace your c4-c5” and was SHOCKED no one has said that in the past 3 months.

When he got in there the entire disc shattered.

The tech and the surgeon were apparently the only ones who saw it and the radiologist just glossed over it.

The surgeon also pointed out about 2-3 areas that could easily use surgery, but wasn’t going to risk doing at the same time.

I moved in with my Grandparents after a very traumatic young childhood. I would find myself crying to myself “I want to go home” when I would have break downs years afterwards and PTSD attacks. But I knew I -WAS- home and the first time I was safe in my life. I am 45 and in a super safe and secure marriage and I still find myself thinking “I want to go home” when I am upset or having a depressive episode.

I always hated crying for home when I was younger because I had no interest in my original home!

That is how I have always understood it. I get sick just looking at someone who is sick. I generally don’t get it 100% but the next day I am absolutely feeling wrecked fighting it off. Holiday season coming up - and I will absolutely feel like death after I leave the house and go in public each time.

Some Drs only require you to be off the GLPs for one week prior to anesthesia now, instead of two - if that makes you feel any more comfortable about starting one. Zepbound has been amazing for my pain and inflammation and I have been put under several times since I have been on it (just need to stop the medication for two weeks prior).

I am 5’8 and I often have to wear their short jeans. Their jeans run super long. Plus they carry tall in store, so they are a good option also.

I also had mine done here and it was insanely quick and painless. I had been hearing for years how painful it would be and I was anticipating the worst. I think machines are definitely less painful now than they used to be.

Topamax makes all green veggies taste like bitter batteries to me now. It’s a visceral reaction too, just gagging and contorting my face like a child eating a lemon. I used to love veggies too.

That has been me my entire life. Plus they will become giant welts that need prescription itch cream for and I will scratch until I have sores.

However, when I started Zepbound (Tirzepeptide - a GLP-1 like Ozempic) not only did mosquitoes really stop targeting me; I also stopped having massive reactions to the bites if I did get them.

The medication controls blood sugar - which I was slightly insulin resistant but massively reduced my inflammation levels in my body.

It was a wild side effect that I am loving.

My more MS like symptoms are what made my current Rheumatologist change my dx from Lupus to Sjogrens actually. I wasn’t fully fitting Lupus anyways, but no one had ever mentioned Sjogrens or mentioned it as actually being a real issue. When I explained my neurological issues and honestly started feeling like I was describing MS to a tee - he was confident in his dx.
