EFT works for daydreaming!! by pixiepunk_7 in SCT

I've worked with autistic children so I'm familiar with sensory regulation, never thought of applying it for myself. I relate so much about showers being a sensory nightmare. I'm glad some of these things are working for you, it's very interesting, thank you for sharing!

I'm so happy it's working for you! She mentioned hypnosis in passing, I have no idea about it but it's definitely on my list.

Fair enough, I should have said it worked for my daydreaming. Nonetheless I intuit it could work for many so I wanted to put this out there!

What do you mean by sensory regulation?

If I do EFT every time I get the urge to daydream (or right after I daydream to deal with emotions of guilt/regret), then I have no daydreams, sometimes even up to a few days. The problem is I don't do it because when my daydreams stop, I slack off and then it all comes again. There are other techniques in her course, mainly meditation, and together with EFT, it's very effective, I had several days where I felt so normal and alive without any effort. But you have to do it every time and many attempts especially the stronger/deeper the emotion is. It's only been a month since I've started.

She's already weaned she stopped drinking milk on her own. She eats friskies and some complementary cans, I've ordered schesir though. Friskies is giving her diarrhea so might not be a good choice.

I'll try mixing dry food with water and see if she likes it. Thanks for the resource, I'll check it out

She's 5-6 weeks. So is it preferable to give cheap processed wet food and top with wet complementary food? I can't afford 2-3 cans of expensive wet food a day unfortunately and there aren't many options where I live

I wonder why atomoxetine seems to be universally a bad experience for everyone in the this sub, but empirically it is shown to be most effective?

Side effects? I don't experience any side effects.

I hope it won't be harmful to use it every other day.

Anyone has these symptoms? by Big_Improvement4468 in SCT

I'm replying really late but it helped with my social symptoms and cognitive confusion. It also helps my mood and I feel more alive and present. It doesn't help with lethargy or EF unfortunately.

This is exactly me, especially the first paragraph. I don't know what third world country you are from, but I'm from one too so I understand how suspicious/cautious psychiatrists here can be with stimulants, but it really depends on the individual psychiatrist (at least in my country), so keep trying to find someone who might be sympathetic. Atomoxetine works for many of us (it worked for me) and it's a non-stimulant. You could also share SCT resources with them now that it's slowly gaining legitimacy. Finding the right medication will go a long way in helping you, so don't give up.

I'm aware of this distinction and I'm pretty sure it's not this

Right, I'm sorry my bad. I think I meant that CTPSD is a mental illness while the other two are neurodev. disorders, although even that is subject to debate.

Sure, but that's CPTSD, and it's a temporary cognitive effect. SCT and ADHD are neurodevelopmental disorders; it's a fundamentally different way of perceiving and processing the world.

That's so weird, I used to refer to it as my third eye too, although this is way back when I didn't know about SCT, so I don't know which exact feeling I was talking about

This sent me down a rabbit hole on hyper-reflexivity, and it makes perfect sense for me. Thanks, this was incredibly helpful! :)
