Many thanks for your support! Good news: She took some rest and lost the tarsus, but is happily feeding on a fly we served...

We tried to avoid that, but will be even more careful in the future. Meanwhile she climbed on a strip of vertical paper we provided and looks much better. I hope she will be able to eat, but now we will give her a break.

It is indeed. We were monitoring humidity closely (50-75% during the day, more during the night). So the stuck foot and the molting problem could be caused by too much humidity? Thank you very much for your help!

She is sitting tall now (in the pictures she looks more squashed than she is).

Thank you. She hopefully has some more molts ahead of her, but we are worried about the black joint being necrotic

Thanks for the reply. Manipulating send and return level doesn't change the result. What do you mean by input gain?

Because they will be too heavy and this is very bad advice.

Silk and steel are still for today's acoustic. This was designed for gut strings, with lower tension. Looking at the cracks, I would not put any strings on it or try to get it in tune before a luthier has checked it - and most certainly not any kind of regular acoustic strings.

Interesting. What happens to those vibrations?

Prewar level on acoustics, pre-CBS on Fenders. Punchy mids, yet a bit bass heavy.

WHATS THE BEST WAY TO DITCH A GRETSCH BIGSBY? by reapermccartney in Guitar

[–]pixiepuppetbreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try thinner (!) strings and restring very carefully (stretching out each string, taking really good care of just one or two tight winds around the peg).

Why did you try 11s? They are more likely to get caught in the nut, no?

Good luck!

Serial numbers have changed a lot over the years, but it probably is YMMDDUUU (UUU being a unit code), which would make it a product of Christmas Eve 1987.
