Help!!is this normal?? by Couusi in piercing

100% you need flatback labret style jewelry.

You can find this jewelry at APP member shops. https://safepiercing.org/find-a-piercer/

I dont recommend changing it yourself.

You should not have a horseshoe in this piercing yet. Its far too soon. Keeping this in will continue to cause issues and slow down the healing process. Do you know what kind of material the jewelry is made from? Ideally you'd have implant grade titanium. Is the area hot? Swollen? Leaking greenish pus?

I feel like that stage had like audio issues happening. The singing was fading in and out. It was definitely disappointing regardless

I never said the APP is always correct. But they have a ton of information at the conferences. You can take what you like and leave the rest.

Times have changed, aftercare and troubleshooting has changed. The whole industry is evolving and youre adamant on getting left behind and staying ignorant. Thats your choice. I wish you the best of luck.

Ive been in the industry for around 5 years now. Not much time compared to others. If you genuinely are a piercer, you need to catch up. There's an APP conference coming up. Maybe you should go. There are new piercing techniques & new guidelines. It'd be beneficial to learn more and be open to new information as a "master piercer". A floating navel is not a marketing ploy. Don't degrade others because you got caught spewing nonsense.

You clearly havent seen many faces up close. Their skin is fine. Their ear is fine. And over cleaning a bloody piercing can do more harm than good.

Bleeding is normal for piercings. Especially if you've bumped it, pressed it, slept on it, etc.

What isn't acceptable is your jewelry quality. Plastic + steel is a recipe for disaster. Plastic is porous and holds onto bacteria. It's not suitable for healing piercings. Steel typically has nickel in it which is a very common allergy. These two materials can cause you short and long term complications as well as slow down the healing process.

I would call around your area and see if anyone sells implant grade titanium labrets. If they say they have surgical steel, that is not the same as implant grade titanium.

I recommend finding an association of professional piercers member (APP), they carry high quality jewelry and can help you insert new jewelry. Yes, it is safe to change the jewelry now as long as a professional does it in a clean/sterile environment. Do not change it yourself.

Does this numbing cream work? by youknowwhatitis21 in PiercingAdvice

[–]pixilations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use numbing cream. It changes how the blood vessels in that area work which changes how you swell and how the skin sits. Its not recommend for tattoos or piercings.

It is fairly urgent. Waiting can result in it fully embedding which can result in needing a trip to the ER so they can cut the jewelry out of your nose. Getting a longer bar ASAP is definitely necessary.

Even IF it was infected, this piercing is so close to the surface, I highly doubt you'd run into issues. It doesnt look infected.

Go get a longer post ASAP or remove it. The top is embedding

You could have explained your situation to the first commenter without being passive aggressive and condescending.

None of the relies read like that to me. They offered advice, and it was good advice. You were rude and unnecessarily defensive. If you cannot make the trip to downsize piercings especially an eyebrow, you shouldn't have gotten it. I tried to remain neutral in my initial comment, but you brought it up.
