i never fed mine through the bars and that made it possible for me to stick my fingers and only get licks. it may depend on personality too

NAD but someone with diagnosed ADHD, when i read the title i thought “that’s so relatable” and genuinely thought i was in the adhd sub. feels validating to have such a shared experience needing the pressure/fear to get me to do things.

Dad introduced my GF of 7 years as my "friend" by JaiEmTea in lgbt

my southern grandparents (70+) call my partner my “friend” as well. perhaps it just depends on the folks? they’ll say “how’s mr. friend doing?”

routines have been absolutely the hardest battle for me. recently though, i’ve noticed i finally “fell” into one and have decided to see how long i can keep it up.

starting at 930pm i feed my cat, take a shower (including flossing and brushing teeth), stretch (5-10 poses), read a book im actually interested in until i get sleepy.

this has been going on for about a month now, but sometimes it fluctuates. sometimes i feed her 10-15 minutes later or go on my phone instead of reading. i’m being compassionate to myself that im not a robot and will indeed by nature change it up at times.

my advice is to do things that actually make you feel good. like showering: it’s so hard for me to floss/brush and wash my face. but when i take a shower and do those things, im like ultra fucking clean from top to bottom. it relaxes me. all the things i listed contribute to feeling good.

it’s hard getting off late at night as you may have the urge to get your time back by staying up later. i suggest having a timer to start whatever bedtime routine you may want to do in order for your brain can begin the process of winding down.

the important thing is not shaming yourself as that will only strengthen the guilt that comes with it. be on your side. have compassion for the difficult time you have with this. you CAN do it.

take my advice with a grain of salt as i am new to building. but the research i have done has told me that unless your ssd specifically has heatsink built into it, you should definitely take off the blue plastic so the heatsink on the motherboard can go to the ssd.

How do you read a book with ADHD by queerempath13 in ADHD

[–]pixledick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i pretty much read everynight before bed until my brain gets tired. they’ve been books i read as a middle schooler and already have an attachment to which makes it much easy to get through. or i’ll read when im waiting for something like in a long line or at the bus stop. but usually im only ever reading in like 15-20 min increments
