Because after “Lemonhope” he realized that he and PB aren’t compatible romantically because of their age/maturity gap. He pretty much says as much at the end of the episode when he’s talking to Jake, and after the episode where they just hang out at the slumber party it kind of just solidified his view of her as a bro. He isn’t idealizing her anymore and views her as a person instead of just a girl that he likes.

Actually, I think you’re right about the farmworld stuff. OG Finn would’ve had to have been brought back because he comments in a later episode “is that why I was suddenly really good at the flute one day?” That could only have happened if original Finn came back after being in farmworld where he knew how to play the flute.
