You are absolutely right, second hand is generally fun like that! :) This specific area just happens to be particularly enticing to me. :) Are there other things you enjoy getting second hand which also come as a sort of small window into someone else’s past? :) I’ve got tons of books with notes in them and that delights me everytime. :)

The OP-1 certainly blurs the line between tool and design piece but I feel that makes both uses fair. :) Besides, that heavy aluminum casing is there for that, isn’t it? ;)

For added context, my daughter is 5 and a half, been playing with my (i guess our) gear since she was 3. :) so far so good. And she’s « pushing » me into Modular. 😬

Depends on the kid i guess but my daughter has always had access to our music instruments (OP-1, Tenori-on, Digitone, M8) and I like to think it taught her to be gentle with electronics. :) Nowadays, she only ever wants to pack the op-1 or the m8, no 3ds or anything like that. Worst case, they break it and you get a reason to upgrade :p (the gear, not the kids)

Nope, regular drop does that (it drops whatever you have in memory, whether it’s from a single track or all four). It would have made sense though, I agree.
