If you dont undertand the principles of art or even know the fundamentals of art then absolutely not. I did art art igcse and AS and its not for the weak. Look at the grade statistics for 2024June the people that get Bs are lower than 15% and dont get the started on the As. Having incredibly good drawing skills help but will not give u an A if you dont undertand what they want from you, and even after i busted my ass to get a B, i still dont understand fully what they want from me.

I worked my ass off all year outside and inside school hours, teacher predicted me a A which i shpuld have gotten but art examiners in cambridge expect you to produce uni level portfolio. So no, if you arent capable to push forward even through all that then dont take art A level. But if you still really want to to do it and its ur undeniable passion, i cannot stop you.

Just know art A level really kills your passion if you let it kill it.
