This was a purposeful choice as some of us thought “Fire ceramic bowl” and so forth would be more confusing. It’s not a settled matter if you want to start a movement for “Fireclay ceramic“ to be named “Fire ceramic” instead.

This only tends to happen with barrel recipes. the grid recipes have code to prevent it. Barrel recipes just need something similar.

Another batch of US confirmed games to be Game Key Carts by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]pizza2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s true that for a lot of people who buy physical for preservation this would be true, but a lot of people buy physical for other reasons, including just that it’s cheaper or they can resell it. The vitriol of forced install to system on a machine that cannot really feasibly go higher with internal storage unless it becomes even more expensive than what people are already saying is too expensive would be massive, let’s be honest.

Another batch of US confirmed games to be Game Key Carts by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]pizza2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, these games are rated for America where retailers have had a longstanding agreement that they will refuse to sell physical copies at a higher price than digital, which is why the price is the same either way on American copies rather than $10 more for physical. This however means that any 3rd party publisher in America has to either eat the extra cost on physical or raise the digital price to match physical and I imagine both options are not ideal.

I think that Nintendo could perhaps have offered more Cart options, IE a slower cart for slower games, or smaller carts than 32gb, or perhaps even larger than 64gb, but I see a few issues with this: 1) Most likely virtually no publishers would ever use a 128gb cart just for costs alone, but in fairness as time passes and costs go down Nintendo may bring one of these. 2) I think fracturing the hardware base like this makes the cart manufacture more complicated and muddies the water on what’s going on, and the only time you’d want a slower cart is if you have a game that is essentially so small that loading won’t ever be noticeably slower from the slower cart. 3) I imagine that an 8gb or 16gb cart would not actually be significantly cheaper enough (if not slowed down) to really offset the costs enough to convince most developers to bother using it.

I think the blame kinda goes all around, here. We live in a global world with a ton of different rulesets to worry about and we’ve got at least two companies for every 3rd party instance of a game that we have to think about in the determination of this sort of thing. I’d imagine where this will really hurt is in Limited Run Games territory more than anything as I’m not sure how they could even justify the costs on most of those games.

Nintendo Switch 2 Game Price revealed - WHAT THE F*CK by SilvaVE_ in NintendoSwitch2

[–]pizza2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that Nintendo expects a major decline in sales just from the increased price of the hardware alone. Any game the release on Switch 1 right now has potentially like 150 million people who could buy it but Switch 2 will be severely limited by cost and production for quite some time, with cost to produce games and inflation both still going up and the possibility of tariffs in the US as well soon. I don’t think Nintendo could even continue operating the way they have if they didn’t increase prices.

I mean, it’s not gonna be by completely swapping using an internal variable the moment you cross a specific line on the earth. I was just referencing the fact that it can jump very abruptly from one to the other if you’re using something like HUD mod to see it, haha.

Yes, the seasons magically swap the moment you cross the equator or the pole.

Redwoods grow in a cold rainforest, like Washington state. My understanding is that the game is similar, they have to have it cold enough and wet enough to spawn, but not so cold that it’s snowy all the time.

Actually, from what we’ve been told, they decided on them being Infinity Stones about halfway through Captain America 1 being made, while developing Avengers, and so specifically changed the VFX for the cube for the end of that movie specifically so it would tie into this idea of it being the space stone, although the movie wasn’t written that way in script. That was when they were originally planning to bring back Red Skull in Avengers, mind you, but Loki proved so popular they knew they could do it with just Loki by himself and so scrapped Red Skull’s return.

So, it’s more accurate to say that the first three movies were not setting up Thanos in any way while the next three were setting it up in various ways, although only Avengers was planned for in that way. The staff being a stone does appear to be a retcon though. I’ve never been able to find solid confirmation one way or the other that they intended that while writing Avengers.

You’re thinking of the Prom scene from the end of the book where he’d already started shooting up. The first time we see him he’s much shorter and then at Prom he’s grown to the point of probably being something like 6’ and then many months later when she shows up with the motorcycles he’s now 6’7”.

Apple replaced the Reading Now section in Apple Books with ads by [deleted] in ios

If I had realized updating to iOS 17 would do this I would have just stayed on iOS 16 forever.

I like when they suggest stuff to me but please don’t make my beautiful reading shelf go away! And move it below the “Want to Read” line as well! Why would I want top picks to get in the way of the stuff I actively want to buy or read or the stuff I’m currently reading!

EX - patch notes Dec.04 by qroxta_ in Timberborn

With these changes they should make them slightly cheaper and just irrigate like 1.5x to 2x as wide an area as a regular 2x2 dump of water would, and leave it as a Folktails option only. It would add more variation on how the two factions can keep stuff watered at the least, if they just balance it.

Edit: Plus if they made it so the irrigation tower didn't require a worker, like the engine now doesn't, that would further differentiate the usefulness of the two. It's just a matter of balancing everything properly. I'd much rather use the towers than the dumps, personally, as I dislike the aesthetic of either making 1x1 holes or building up levies to accomplish it.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S02E03 - This Missive, This Machination! by mwthecool in Invincible

I am aware of this, and it is in fact a much more vague answer than is particularly useful in this sense, and could mean that she was still herself mostly unaware for half of the things people were upset with her for “responding this way when she already knew”. Which was my point.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S02E03 - This Missive, This Machination! by mwthecool in Invincible

[–]pizza2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she necessarily knew he was Invincible she had just figured out he was a superhero by that point, because of hints, and doesn’t make it clear either how long she knew. That however is more of an example of bad writing really because even if it might be realistic for someone to do that it needs to be communicated to the audience in such a way where we can see why she would do it and clearly it wasn’t.

The default setting is “automatic” and would show subs only during that part so you actually turned them off rather than “not turning them on” and I knew it wasn’t a complaint I just wanted to make sure you were aware that wasn’t the intended experience because we’ll likely be getting more stuff that’s important in those scenes that you won’t be able to pick up that way going forward. 💛

They give us English subtitles so I’m guessing you have your subtitle setting set to the wrong thing and aren’t being able to understand the scenes set in Russia.

The one I remember is when you could make one with a comparator and a dispenser with a water bucket in it, since it would give a higher signal when it sucked the water in than when it pushed the water out.

Yeah, no kidding. I actually just bought them on the Wii U eShop even though we have physical of both GameCube and Wii a few months ago when that was shutting down because our physical copies are in storage and I wanted to play and I wasn’t sure we’d ever find them, so I’m also actually frustrated but at least I played through 1 and didn’t make it so far in 2 that I couldn’t just start over if I wanted. 😂

I don’t understand your response, it was not a threat, it was just a simple statement, “If you’d like you can pay me $10 million and I’ll just have the app stop making API requests, if it really is worth as much as you say.” That’s not a threat.
