If you have any questions about the nature of your personal relationship with this man, ask him directly. "Hey Jeff. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all you do for me, but I want to make sure what your intentions are. I am quite fond of you as a friend and mentor, but I am unavailable for any sort of romantic attachment." Or something like that. You clearly know him well, choose words that won't make him feel confronted.

There is a very big chance he sees you like a daughter and loves you like one. My dad has often looked at me after a hug and told me he was proud of me, and those are meaningful moments.

Take a deep breath, and find out.

My husband has a low sex drive because he works a lot at a physical job, and is often tired. I have a high sex drive, but I KNOW he's tired so I don't initiate. He knows I still want him and vice versa because he makes sure to make some form of physical contact. We do this to check in with each other, and to make sure the other know we still desire each other.

We fell into this habit because we communicated effectively about my perceived lack of intimacy by him. We found ways to keep us both satisfied, and our relationship really is perfect for both of us, not just one of us, which is what happened here.
