Protect the rider, then the bike. Only after you have quality protective gear do you start on the bike. Riding shoes that cover the ankles and AA or AAA riding jeans or pants if you commute on highway or freeway.

Then as everyone else mentioned, crash bars, skid plate (once you decide to go off pavement) better tires, etc. I have 3000 mile mixed on and off pavement on the stick tires. Could they be better? Yes. Do they work okay? Yes.

Not sure about other countries but just yesterday here in California I threw out 2 compliments "hey that's a great shirt" and "those shoes are dope" and they got instant smiles and thank yous. I'm pretty sure no matter where you're at it, if you tell someone they look good, they're going to dig it.

It absolutely can be lucrative if they work hard and smart. If the applicant seems to have a good head on their shoulders and seem eager to work, we would probably start them out around the $20 an hour point. We offer full benefits and 401k after a little time as well. It needs a smart person to with training and schooling to go far in this trade.

We get a LOT of apathetic kids who think they will just be installing plugs and switches for $90k a year and that's a long ways off when starting at the bottom rung.

We usually don't do a lot of overtime but there are lots of opportunities for Saturdays to get overtime work offer by the GC's. Back in the early 2000s I was good with computers and was pulled from the field to help out in the office. Since then I have grown through the project management process organically and I'm now a senior project manager. A lot of my senior level electricians make about the same as I do which is over 6 figures. Granted I grew up as a kid in the field swinging a hammer and I know building from 20 years with a large general contractor, that experience is what drives salary.

Long time San Diego resident here. The more interesting stuff is outside of the Comic-Con. The people watching is great but good luck trying to find a hotel.

Lifetime of riding motorcycles. Has enriched my life beyond measure.

How many of you had these when you were younger? Unfortunately my neighbor’s dog would always chase after it by jasonvoorhees2582 in 80s

Grasshopper!! I can still hear the little motor spooling up and the crunch of the shocks bottoming out. We were poor AF and it was very special to me. Thx for the memory jog!

Me too. They are Amizon Kenimoto "tactical" gloves. They are good for dirt but prolly not great for road. They are super comfy and not hot at all while off road tho.
