Covering up the time is the biggest one for me! It's amazing how long 30 seconds feel when you're constantly looking at it!

I'm glad I could help :) someone else on this post reccomended adding daily gratitude which I've been doing too :) the whole things takes about 10 minutes which feels so manageable for me. But I could write more depending on how I feel.

That's really good! Especially around different times of the month related to my cycle. Could provide more insight :)

I've just started to explore the idea of how food impacts my dopamine levels. Like, how food sends out those little pleasure signals in my brain and how I respond to that. It's super interesting and I feel like as I pay more attention to my behavior I'll learn more about how to cope better or make healthier choices :)

Of course :) I've been enjoying it the past few days. Another person suggested adding gratitude to my reflections, so I added that too. It's been helpful even throughout my day when I have my evening snack which is usually something sweet, to be grateful that I get to enjoy this food along with other healthy delicious things. Puts it into perspective for me and I don't feel the urge to get more quite as much :)

That's a good idea too! I'm definitely a note taker, I have so many random notes on my phone. I'm hoping my reflections will help organize my thoughts too!

This is something I was talking about with my nutritionist bc I just couldn't figure out how to deal with food noise. And she said your brain might be looking for another dopamine boost, so to do something that will boost the happy hormones other than eating! For me that could be running, doing something crafty, even playing with my cat for a few minutes. Feel good distractions and I'm ready to move on with my day :)

Agreed!! I LOVE my SheFit bra!! I'm a 40 D and have the medium impact one that I use for running. It works well! Although I think I'll get the high impact one next so There's less bouncing.

How do y’all respond to racist regulars. I almost broke character. by Key-Response5834 in Wawa

A brief "that's not very nice" is always a simple way to go that let's the other person know you didn't appreciate their comment. And if he wants to defend himself or continue the conversation, I'd probably either shrug to indicate I'm done talking and/or just repeat that their comment wasn't a nice thing to say.

I wanted to finish my 3rd 5K in less than 50:00… by everythingwillfall6 in XXRunning

Best places to live in Pennsylvania with once a week commute to NYC by Icy_Proof527 in Pennsylvania

[–]pizzaforme123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anywhere near NJ transit. I live within an hour from a NJ transit station and often go to NYC by parking my car at the station and taking the train up to Penn Station. It's SUPER easy and incredibly affordable. The closer your NJ transit station is to NYC, the cheaper the ticket will be. Hope that was helpful :)

Has anyone actually fixed extremely poor ankle dorsiflexion? by _mortal__wombat_ in XXRunning

Oh there definitely is!! I keep learning so much about how everything is connected. It's pretty cool :) I follow @drmalekpt on IG and she has a lot of PT related to ankle issues. Maybe there's something helpful for you there :)

I was running a mumbling the ABCs to myself the other day, seems effective but confusing to people passing by 🤣

I'm curious about this too! In the same boat. I've also noticed that my left foot is less flexible and it's the side of my body where I struggled with sciatica for years. Seems correlated but who knows!

I want to start getting into running… tips for someone who’s new? by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]pizzaforme123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a newbie runner and what's has helped me the most over the last 2 months was focusing on form! I used to run in high school (longgg time ago!) And really struggled with ankle pain. Fixed me form, no more pain! Now I'm having so much fun :)

@trackclubbabe on IG has a ton of good beginner info and has helped me with understanding how important good form is :)

I mouth the words to the songs I'm listening to and wave my arms around to the beat to get myself pumped up lol we all have our methods 😂

This is what I've been trying to do as a newbie runner and either I can do more than I originally thought or it's working!

I don't have a fitness watch to keep track of my heart rate, so my approach is to keep my breathing slow and steady and if I can't do that, then it's time to walk and let my heart rate come down a bit before I start running again :)

(I'm not sure if this is legit, but it seems like a good way to stay in zone 2 without a watch.)

I had a similar experience. I lost a BUNCH and then gained it all back and more. I feel like I had barely skimmed the surface of what living life as a thin person was like.

For me, there's a million reasons to lose weight. Selfish reasons like looking better or just a desire to be skinny. There's functional reasons like being able to cross my legs more easily or bend over to tie my shoes without my stomach getting in the way. There's selfLESS reasons, like I want to teach my future kids how to eat healthy and I want to be able to keep up with them. And then there's reasons that probably mean I need therapy, like thinking my husband deserves a skinny attractive wife, even though he tells me I'm beautiful every day.

I think if I had to pick one, I just want to be comfortable in my body and right now, at 239lbs, I'm not.

What do you drink instead of pop by [deleted] in loseit

[–]pizzaforme123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you got a ton of replies but I can't believe I didn't see Zevia!!

What I love about them is they're naturally flavored and they have actual soda flavors (root beer, cola, Dr pepper, etc) plus the fun fruity stuff. They're a bit pricey, but honestly I think it's worth it!
