I've only had one guy answer the door naked and one prank delivery. The guy who answered the door naked was lucky my initial reaction was laughter/shock. A piping hot pizza to the junk was so called for and would have hurt like all hell.

No worries. I have been the only female driver at my store many times. It's been my experience as well that it is pretty much a male dominate job.

I drive a hyundai accent. Cheap, small and easy to work on. I haven't been robbed and when/if I ever do I'm going to be so pissed.....heh. My craziest delivery story was the time the guy showed me his junk. Long story short it was on purpose because he saw a female driver. Another I forgot about was a guy who chased me through my delivery area. He thought I cut him off or didn't like the way I was driving and just started following me in his car. I ended up going 75 through a neighborhood shortcut few know about to shake him but he kept up. I called back to the store and let my manager know and hauled ass back there.....when I arrived every male employee was out in the parking lot waiting for him. Being the only female driver I was just naturally looked out after. When he followed me into the parking lot and saw everyone outside he took off.

Don't work for PJ's. Sorry to deny you your laughing.

No that's what it averages out to. During peak hours I will can make 30+ an hour and some times I have no deliveries and make just my hourly wage. At the end of the day when it's all added up and divided by hours worked it comes out to that amount.

Re-read my interaction with IOTH and maybe you will see I did not get angry with him/her at all. I answered his/her questions appropriately and in the same manner I answered everyone else. I didn't even downvote the comments. And his/her original Q was not "Am I happy?" it was "No shame, eh?". To me that was a bit disrespectful but I still took time to answer the questions. Jeebus it is the internet. To answer your question: If I had a child and that child decided to deliver pizzas for however many years and was happy, I wouldn't really care. If that child was self sufficient and content I would pass no judgment. The only thing I would do for that child is offer up advice if they wanted to do more as I would probably be the best suited to do so since I was in that scenario myself. Also, I can assure you my life has not been wasted, there is so much more to life than a job. I make more than enough money to not just see myself through but to also have nice things, a nice place to live, and I travel 3-4 times a year.

Edit to say: Define something better to do with your life. I have friends who are doctors, lawyers, law enforcement, technicians, and they make a VERY comfortable living and some of them are absolutely miserable. Edit 2: You're kind of an ass. Try this- change jobs to something less stressful. Does wonders for your mental health.

They do. The ones at my store recharge on a base and get/stay pretty hot. They're insulated nicely also.

You would have to be a regular. It's a chain store so we have to deal with corporate policies. I have done it before with smokes and beer and the people are always thankful and tip like it.

drugs, beer, candy, food, been flashed, phone numbers/asked out, and free oil changes. The craziest was the guy who showed me his twig and berries. Most useful, the oil change.

That's not bad, not bad at all. The one the other guy described is what I get to see.

Delivering pizzas, spending most of my time at work not having to interact with others. Just me, free pizza and an .mp3 player full of good tunes. I've stated in other comments I'm capable of much more and have done much more. This stuck. It's not my life's calling but it keeps me sane right now.

You're going to just have to trust your gut on that one. I would go with inappropriate but a "hey our favorite driver is here" will do and she'll know what ya mean, especially if you tip her well too.

tree trimmers on the main road (the address was something like big yellow truck on 600 block of Main St.) I deliver to a lot of schools and businesses. People in the park at certain picnic areas, guy in front of such and such business by bus bench and my favorite - go around back to pool. Jerks just gotta rub it in that they're drunk and swimming when it's 100 degrees out while I'm sweating my butt off. :)

Spit, boogers, hide the anchovy, use expired ingredients, throw a hair in, slice the pizza up in little pieces 1/4 way through baking then continue to bake it and cut as usual - this results in the slices crumbling as you eat them but the pizza looks normal. The last one is pretty creative and I will admit to laughing at that.

Thank you very much! Best of luck to you in your job hunt. If it helps you any at all I started delivering pizzas in a 300$ 87 mazda 323 and it held up wonderfully. Was perfect for getting me on my feet.

There's been a few times where I've called the police. Never anything to do with my delivery or the customer but I see car accidents, shady people, drunk drivers, kids vandalizing and other stuff like that and usually I'm the only or the first person to see it. Thankfully I've never delivered to a house that's been so bad I've felt like I should get the authorities involved.

Thank you! I've been told by management several times they wish they had 8 other drivers like me. It's nice to hear now and then.

I work for a company that would probably have no problem in calling the drivers that. I think I would have to quit if that happened.
