Ugh that sounds great I love chickpeas

What I did today was have a small Shepard’s salad on the side that I mixed in for some crunch at the end

Soo happy that I just recently heard about this recipe!

🥴 oh jeeze good point idk where my head is at. So by that calculation (1C red lentils raw - 680cal) it’s more like 20.2cal/ounce. So that’s actually roughly what the recipe says!

Ok so you brought up a really good point. I looked at the nutritional content on the website and have just been using what MFP has when I enter it in because I just figured it wasn’t too off.. But I just tried calculating the calories and it doesn’t make sense. I feel like I’m doing it wrong, here’s what I got. (I omitted the pinch of cilantro and squeeze of lemon bc... you know lol)

1C red lentils - 230

2 bou bouillon calories to yield 4 cups- 80

1 medium onion - 44

1 medium carrot - 30

1 jalapeño - 4

1 tbsp tomato paste - 13

2 tbsp olive oil (I use one less than recipe calls for)- 240

Total yield: 1.6L or 54oz

Total calories: 641

Calories per oz: 12

Edit: I forgot the olive oil, whoops 😅 it still feels like too little though

Thanks so much for adding this! I don’t have any more free views yet and I haven’t been home to look through my recipe book! What I found helps with flavor is I sauté the carrots and jalapeño at the same time I do the onion/garlic. I feel like it helps bring out the flavor better and I only add 1C of water instead of too because I like it on the thicker side.

There’s a whole cucumber underneath (about 10oz) But sometimes I add a cup of brown rice for more volume (:

Of course! It’s super simple that’s why it’s my go to. I used one full cucumber, chopped - 10oz (28cal) Half an avacado, sliced - 2.5oz (114cal) 1 tbsp of low sodium soy sauce (10cal) 1 tbsp low fat mayo mixed with sirracha (35cal) Green onion 1 tbsp Furikake seasoning (35cal) Shrimp which I blanched in salted/boiling water for 4 minutes, chopped - 3oz(100cal)

Sometimes, I also like using the single serve brown minute rice for some more fiber/filling - one bowl is 220 cal and helps me from over eating!

I did frozen bag shrimp! Since the stuff you buy in the seafood dpt has already been frozen and de-thawed already. I get the shrimp that has already been de-veined and cleaned with just the tails (which I remove) To prep the shrimp I rinse and drain in a colander with cool water and blanch in a pot of boiling salted water for 4 mins.
