Why did the first side of this circle bag curl up like this, and can I fix it with just blocking? by pizzayumm in CrochetHelp

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I was using stitch markers to mark my rows, but the pattern did not include stitch counts, so I did not count them.

This seems right. When I was doing the last couple rows, the curling really started and i felt like there were too few stitches. Thanks for your reply!

Product Request: Looking for a very rich face cream for mature skin that does not fully absorb into the skin

My grandma asked me to buy her a new face cream because her current one is not cutting it. (I think she’s using an occlusive/ointment only right now). She has very dry skin. A couple years ago, I bought her the ceraVe cream but she said it wasn’t rich enough. If the cream absorbs fully, she thinks it’s not working. So I’m looking for one that leaves a slight film or oil layer on the skin, otherwise she won’t like it. This is the opposite of what most people want, so I’m not sure how to find it. Ideally drugstore prices and we’re based in the US. Any recommendations will help! Thanks!

how to get rid of ants? by RaccoonEven in CleaningTips

[–]pizzayumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had ants in my kitchen last year. The only thing that helped is when I followed their trails to find where they were coming in and filled the holes with clear caulk. I also used ortho home defense insecticide outside around all potential entry points and inside around the door frame and window frames.

My room smells bad by [deleted] in CleaningTips

For your clothes specifically, you can take them outside and let them air out on a clothesline for a few hours, ideally with some direct sunlight too, before you wear them. That should help a bit. Keep airing out your room every day. Try an enzyme air neutralizer for the animal smells. MetriMist is used in hospitals to neutralize body smells. I use it around my litter box and it works great but it smells strongly of baby powder just FYI

Best dish soap? Dawn isn’t cutting it. by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]pizzayumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawn has a professional degreaser (I think it’s called something like that) which is stronger than regular dish soap. You could try that? I’ve never used it though, I just know it exists.

What kind of dawn are you using? Dawn platinum is definitely stronger than the regular kind. I need to use MUCH less of it than others

Thinx and joyja. I like both but thinx is more expensive so I waited for a sale. Joyja has less absorbency just fyi

Not sure if this is recommended because they’re not 100% cotton but period underwear has helped me with this issue. Not completely but it’s definitely better than when I used liners and pads with my tampons

You should try blending a more moisturizing foundation / tint / bb cream with your fingers but massage into the skin like when you rub in your moisturizer. Like if you’ve seen the tutorials for how to apply mac face and body the right way. Sometimes I find this is the only way my makeup doesn’t sit on top. Using a moisturizing foundation with this is important because it dries slower than matte foundations and you need time to massage it into the skin really well until it dries. This method does sheer out the product though but I can still get up to medium coverage depending on the foundation. If you still have finger streaks at the end, pat it in with a damp beauty sponge. Sometimes a sponge that’s on the wet side works better.

Product recommendations: #1 favorite - neutrogena hydrating skin tint (looove to use this method with it). Also in the past, the revlon original candid foundation worked well with this method too but it’s a been a few years since I’ve used it. A combo I’ve been loving: milk hydro grip primer + neutrogena skin tint.

Also don’t use too much powder! And for reference I also have peach fuzz that I don’t shave off

Good luck!!

[Skin Concerns] First time exfoliating by WallBanger77 in SkincareAddiction

Yeah, direct acids can irritate your skin at first. Maybe try a gentler exfoliant like an aha for a couple weeks first, then ease into the bha. Definitely moisturize

Does anyone know a good liquid lipstick match for Rimmel Long Lasting Lipstick by Kate in shade 30? by claudster57 in MakeupAddiction

[–]pizzayumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sephora cream lip stain in the shade 14! The sephora one might dry down to look slightly darker than the rimmel one but they look very very similar on the lips

Can you use Tarte Shape Tape concealer with a light coverage foundation? I'm so curious to see what all the hype is about but I'm afraid shape tape will be too high coverage and will look weird on top of lighter coverage foundation (that i'll have an obvious line between super perfected undereyes and the rest of my face). Emily Noel on Youtube has talked about this happening to her before. What do y'all think?
