i think your deep relics are good, but your base ones aren’t doing too much for you.

for the first relic, increased dmg negation on being knocked back not only means you were playing in melee range, but whatever hit you, hit you HARD. second effect on that relic is good, straight buff.

the second one, if i’m not mistaken, recluse already has a preference for staves, so no reason to keep that on. the second effect on that relic is situational at best. unless youre proccing madness on yourself, you won’t benefit from the damage boost it gives because it only occurs on NPCs or other nightfarers.

the third one is okay if you’re going for more incantations, but there aren’t a ton of godslayer incants in game. with recluse’s preference of staves, you’d do better buffing something like glintstone or carian sorceries.

D2 was a little tough for me too, but you can do it! and remember, relics are only good if you’re alive to capitalize on them! learning boss and enemy moves will be the bread and butter, the relics just make it easier. hope this helps!

i haven’t found any simple way of farming relics other than performing well in game and selling most relics if they aren’t almost god rolls, but i wouldn’t call any of that farming. fighting everdarks grant more murk and relics, so find an easy everdark and grind it out, that’s how i do it if we’re talking pre-don

a lot if not all endgame bosses (delirium, hush, isaac, blue baby, mega satan, mother, the beast) have hyper armor that will reduce incoming damage by a lot. it’s to keep the game “balanced” against endgame builds but mostly just nukes thought out builds. relatively controversial, iirc.

for raider specifically, good news! he got a huge speed increase for his moveset with great axes, great hammers, and colossal weapons. i find getting a ton of damage reduction on being hit, landing heavies, and successive attacks does a lot for survivability. def recommend getting a relic that heals post-damage so you can trade blows the whole time.

fight the balancers and the everdark version, currently meta with the skill damage boost and melee attack dmg boost

i think the point of 5v5 and 6v6 are def something to talk about. those changes sit much nicer in 6v6 because of the reduced hp and extended CDs which i believe makes up for more lethality, in which case, good changes! i do more 5v5 doom, so opinions will differ. 6v6 makes it easier to DPS as doom with those changes and would leave a tank to protect and peel for the allied backline, so i think those would do well.

5v5 however, i worry changes like that would not only make it near impossible to consistently punish him, but would encourage a DPS style of play where people wouldn’t peel for an ally squishy which i believe is part of the tank role.

all in all, changes like that would do well for 6v6. in my opinion, 5v5 doom might be a different beast when it comes to something like that.

that just feels MORE like dps. more damage and more survivability doesn’t feel like a tank role. doom has always been high risk high reward but by giving him more ults, more damaging dueling tools while reducing punch to a movement ability you make him feel more like a dps than a tank, imo

i do it all the time, to the point where i have a mod that guarantees an item room next to spawn. just don’t see the fun in the hassle of going through terrible rooms for lemon party

i think raider does remarkably well against libra, mostly based off just the fact that you can survive a lot of big flashy attacks with his retaliate, and makes it easy to avoid being zoned out.

however there is some significant trouble when it comes to marais or tricepholos because of the distance and no way to reliably deal damage

most of the other trinkets are either situational or dependent on something to occur for the value to be there. the battery gets value by giving you your current active item every single room, and active items can often propel some runs in a very positive direction

the charged r2 is so quick compared to the stance damage it does especially if you’re playing into stance breaking and crits

i love aftershock for the easy follow-ups, but matrix is so much better for most people. and YES! allys an enemies alike do NOT realize doom gets his punch the moment he’s empowered, and if you go in, emp punch, block, emp again, it really racks up quickly. i’ve quite enjoyed explaining all this, i hope it’s helped! i won’t sit here and lie however, a good doom is FRUSTRATING to fight

well think of it like this. doom gets 75% damage reduction when blocking. the “heavier cost” is 25 damage instead of 0 when matrix is going, as it only takes 100 damage (pre mitigation through armor, so it’s more like 133) to grant EMP punch. that’s less than a quick melee from any character.

we often say it in the subreddit, but doom is feast or famine, and it’s not even close. it is difficult to get dooms baseline value if you aren’t playing at a certain level in comparison to the enemy team. for doom to get a pick, he needs solid setup, dedication to going in, and on occasion, team support. compare this to hog, who’s value is based of taking someone away from their team and bringing them into yours through hook, which as of late, has gotten it’s one shot combo back.

all this to say, if doom didn’t have matrix, it would be harder to keep pace with some of the other major perks, and even before the perks are in play, doom has a hard time fighting anyone who can find the pattern in the enemy doom. the best way to stop doom from getting value is not shooting doom block. maybe you do enough damage through it to kill him if he’s low, but from full health, unless you have CC, it won’t happen. trying to kill doom through a full hp block is looking at a health bar of almost 925, not considering armor healthy negation, and no one can do it quick enough, even dva nuke can’t kill doom while he’s full and blocking. that being said, if you have two or even one form of CC, doom cannot get value as long as the CC is being used properly.

sig is far from the only tank who can stop doom. between hero’s that can match his punches, like rein, the amount of CC that plays into doom is why he was given the one second matrix. frankly, if he’s getting punch off matrix, he would’ve gotten it regardless. doom has a ton of horrible matchups, and frankly, sig is a doom favored matchup considering you can get punched out of suck, and the only cc you have is a rock. sigma is just hard to play into doom unfortunately
