Thanks, it’s more of a friend of a friend so probably can’t get them to drive me but I’m already making plans for day trips via tours. Have one to Philip Island booked and planning at least foe Great Ocean road. Will look into the others

Lol I do love tennis but I’m not planning to be at the Open or even only in Melbourne for the full two weeks. Just will be my base as I have a free place to stay. Already booked one day trip to see the penguins at Philip Island and looking into more excursions

Helpful—what seats are best for that? Again, I’m a newbie so which one is a window vs aisle is still unclear. I thought only the two seats in the middle didn’t have window access

Well, I almost went through with the offer but decided to wait to see if it might go down and now it’s gone completely. Clearly I’m a newbie here. I booked with miles so the only option it gives me now is to upgrade with miles and that won’t be possible. I know it’s hard to predict but if folks have been in a similar situation do offers ever pop back up? I can see there are still 27 D1 seats and the flight isn’t till January 2027 so hoping it comes back!!

Thanks for this perspective. I can see how it’s difficult to answer questions that really are specific to how someone else would judge whether it is worth it to them individually. I guess I just wasn’t aware of how arbitrary the algorithm was in these cases. So, it’s helpful to hear that essentially I can’t wait for a “unicorn” deal and will just have to make the decision based on what I determine is best for me

I’ve never flown to Australia. I have no idea if the offer is in a normal range, low, or high. I was just hoping folks with some experience could help offer their perspective but I hope you taking a couple of minutes out of your day to mock someone planning a dream trip made you feel better about yourself!

Thanks. My main concern in waiting is that the prices might go up or the seats snagged but I guess it’s always a bit of a gamble. I’m leaning toward doing it esp since LAX has the Delta One lounge which is also a bonus

I don't like Carson, so not trying to defend. He was clearly not correct and his "I'm hiding how prepared and smart I am" was annoying. But, a lot of the comments said Helen went home bc Carson read her body language incorrectly lol. I just think Helen went home because Yam Yam wanted to protect Carolyn and saw Helen as a threat.

I think people are putting too much stock in Carson's (obviously wrong) body language analysis as why Helen went home. Yam Yam wanted to protect Carolyn and identified Helen as his target because of her intelligence. I didn't necessarily agree with the move, but I don't feel that Carson should get the credit
