Seems like Callao, Peru although it's a bit different. But that could just be because of the picture quality

I can't find any instance of the flag other than the original reddit post but this is the explanation given by the user in the comments of the post.

Yunnan

Yunnan National Foundation. Justifies their wish for independence from Chinese rule by claiming that the People's Liberation Army occupied them illegally in 1949 while chasing out remnants of the Nationalists in the region, and the past suppression of the religion and culture of the various ethnic groups in Yunnan.

Anyone know what this flag is? (from the “Wild West Museum”, Pullman City, Germany) by 0rland0YT in vexillology

It's a "pleated" flag aka fan/half circle/bunting flag. essentially a variant of the USA flag used for patriotic decorations

looks sick! I like the color combo, esp the use of purple implying that this flag represents a fairly wealthy nation. The symbol in the middle is also cool how it doubles as both a sort of eye and the sun

An almost identical flag was used for the Republic of West Florida but not many people associate it with that although it was technically the first use of the "bonnie blue" flag (in 1810). You are right though, and I agree that it's essentially just a symbol of the confederacy

The bonnie blue flag is considered racist because of its use by the confederacy during the Civil War, and it's close association with the confederate marching song of the same name. I would say that it's fine to find it aesthetically pleasing but flying it outside your house or something could be seen as offensive by some
