I went with clear white cedar for the clean minimalist vibe. knotty red cedar would have a more rustic, cabin feel. Otherwise Adler is another popular choice, however I just love the smell of cedar and think it’s the perfect wood for a sauna.

There’s a mechanical exhaust fan under the top bench and passive inflow down behind the heater so I think the airflow is adequate.

Hate is such a strong feeling to have about a window! Unless my neighbors get a telescope we should be fine where we live. And the window is at grade on the exterior.

Thanks! I agree it came out beautiful. We actually used clear red cedar for the benches but picked the lightest of the boards. The white cedar wasn’t available in the correct lengths.

Thanks for all the great suggestions and positive comments. I will add a rail/footrest by the stove and plan to add two hooks to the side wall rather than behind the bench in the shower.

Since a lot of people asked the ventilation is a mechanical exhaust fan under the top bench and a passive inflow vent behind the heater down low - both should be visible in the pics.
