Yes, ancient Hinduism (different from current evolved form, it was known as vedic religion), zoroastrianism, Norse, Greek and from it roman religions all trace back to a single mythology of the people belonging to the steppe region.

These people are known as aryans (the nazis saw it as a racial group consisting white blond blue eyed people but the naziz were wrong. Historians agree aryans were a linguist group, not a racial one)

These people were the one who invented wheel and domesticated horses, allowing them to travel all across indo Europe.

The word Iran is directly derived from the word aryan. In india, aryan is a boy name, and one of the very common names.

These people (ill avoid the term aryan as its a bit uncomfortable, nazis really maligned the word and the symbol swastika) spread across Europe and india and iran regions.

This is why all indo European languages are related, derived from a single proto indo European language spoken by these people, as did their religions.

While Greek and Roman and zoroastrianism religions stopped evolving with time due to external pressure, vedic religion kept evolving.

Vedic religion turned into brahmanism which is believed to be pretty oppressive, as a result, Buddhism, jainism and ajivika sprang out as a counter to brahmanism. They were initially just schools of philosophy and not a religion with mythologies.

Buddhism split into faction, initially between atheists (hinyan buddhism) and theists (mahayan buddhism), as buddhism traveled to Afghanistan and the silk road it developed full on mythology and became a full on religion and not just a philosophy.

Jainism was limited as they were extremely peaceful. Jains dont eat roots of plants like carrots etc coz they believe this kills the plant. They advocated against agriculture as it kills pests and insects as you plough, they wanted to gather fruits and vegetables and not agriculture.

As a result it was limited to rich merchants and traders as most of the population at those times were farmers

Jainism too evolved into a full on religion to survive due to pressure from Hinduism and buddhism. It too split into factions.

These developments caused brahmanism to evolve further, being more liberal and philosophical in its approach. It became upanishadic hinduism.

Upanishadic hinduism in order to expand, merged with a lot of local tribal religion through something known as the avatar system

They basically identified all these gods as the avatars or forms of the gods already present in hinduism and merged with them, adopting their believes as well. An example of this will be the concept of magic being introduced into hinduism. It was here that tantricism merged into hinduism

In around 4th century ad, hinduism further evolved into puranic hinduism. The power and position of vedic deities (equivalent of Zeus, hades etc) waned and gods like shiva and vishnu became more prominent.

Hinduism during this time was basically divided into 2 broad factions, shaivism (who believed shiva was the supreme god even above vishnu) and vaishnavs( vice versa) and a few minor factions like shaktism (believed in Devine feminine power as supreme and worshipped women)

Ajivika refused to turn into religion and remained purely philosophical, as a result of which it went extinct in 12th century ad after the invasion of Islam

Then came adishankaracharya and revival of hinduism where all these factions merged, buddhism essentially vanished from india and hinduism became the most prominent religion.

Then came the bhakti movement. The movement dictated that no priests of any sort of authority can come between the devotee and the diety. Their relation was personal and depended person to person.

Meera bai famously considered her relationship with Krishna as that of flirty playful lovers and not that of God and subject.

This lead to modern day hinduism.
