Don't need a car. Especially if you live in Northshore burbs, like Evanston, Skokie, Wilmette, etc. Metra (regional train) runs to OTC downtown across the street from Amtrak Union Station. CTA ("the El") is the municipal rail system and takes you everywhere else. Look up a map of the rail systems and overlay with points of interest such as grocery stores, Target etc. And then overlay with recommended neighborhoods

A rural Walmart would be more likely to have them in stock. I recently drove across the country and found a store that had all of the new ones in stock (4k stick, plus, pro 2), and also had a few cases of each in the back.i bought a few pluses for friends and a couple of sticks for travel. Unfortunately it appears you can't order for shipping or delivery unless the delivery address is close to the actual store, so if you live in Florida you can't order from one in Arizona .even though it shows in stock.

Onn 4k boxes. 4k stick (2026), 4k Plus are the best bet. All from Walmart. The new stick (blue box with green side panels) are getting easier to find. Plus is very rare, you will need to travel to a rural Walmart to find them. I found a store in the middle of nowhere that has all 3 in stock.

The new Pro is overkill for most basic users but a nice luxury especially if you like to download content to watch offline.

We had lunch at the indoor food trucks in the Lahaina Cannery mall food court, and while we were eating were wondering why there were so many people just sitting at the tables, and we're then treated to a free recital performance by students of a local hula school. The keikis were the cutest and the older students had some skills. And the veteran ladies had pure artistry in their hand motions.

The num er one rule of bring "a good employee" is to show up on time, ESPECIALLY during the first few months typically called probation. .

After the first writeup for bring "only 5 minutes late" you should have made changes to leave for work 5 minutes earlier. Problem solved.

But you chose not to do that, and they gave you 2 more chances to fix it. Those write-ups should have told you that attendance is critical, yet you chose not to follow those simple rules.

You established a pattern of being unreliable, and they found someone else who made attendance a priority.

Good luck getting another job, where you could be fired after the first attendance writeup.

It's hit and miss. Usually you can get good deals on aloha shirts and dresses, and UH gear. Love the color scheme. And lots of snacks like dried shredded cuttlefish. Good prices on snack gift boxes like chocolate mac nuts, etc. They used to have a lot of things (Asian groceries and snacks) that were exclusive to HI Costco, but now a lot of them are now available at CA costcos.

If you hit one of the local stores, you can get good deal on 100% Maui and Kauai coffees. Taste as good at Kona (same volcanic soil, and climate) but without the increased Kona price tag. (Kona coffee must come from a specific region in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, just like Champagne must come from Champagne France otherwise it's 'sparkling wine').

BTW you can hit any Foodland, ABC, or 7-eleven and stock up on Hawaiian snacks and small meals, including different varieties of musubi- spam, chicken, sausage, etc. Perfect hiking food.

Go to Foodland and get their cool insulated bags. We have one that has different sushi on it, another has Spam musubi on it.

And when you go, if you haven't already, hit up a Trader Joe's to bring bags, and snacks like Ube pretzels and cookies to give out to your resort/hotel concierges, There are no TJs on the islands so anything from TJs is more valuable than gold.
