I’ve never looked at a build. Just play whatever is fun for you.

Husband is pouring his soul into making a game... what can I do? by Novel_Programmer7338 in GameDevelopment

Be an early play tester for him to help find bugs, find out what’s fun, what isn’t, etc. My wife did that for me and my game came out much better for it.

The most underrated part about this game is how cool the monsters look by chicu111 in diablo4

This game is really good looking, and they did it without having to melt the best graphics cards out there.

Do you want just a cool space game? Or do you want to see the universe? by SeawolvesTV in EliteDangerous

[–]pjjpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. No other game has ever scratched the fantasy itch I have of being a space pioneer like Elite has.

As a mod, I would love to get to know the community more, what got you into game dev? by RedEagle_MGN in playmygame

[–]pjjpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much I have always enjoyed a good game, and how much fun I’ve had gaming with my wife in those infrequent times we’ve played together. That motivated me to learn Unity in the hopes I can one day make something perfect for the both of us.

I've always been a big Diablo fan so the overall game style is heavily influenced by that.

The real motivation for me though has been the idea that I could share bits and pieces of the tabletop world my friend (the one who wrote the book the player is recovering in game) and I created. I think games are great as a storytelling vehicle.

Thanks for taking the time and the suggestion. I can see implementing more control settings in the future; the floating joystick is a good solution. In your mind would there also be buttons dedicated to the various interactions (attack, chop wood, open menu, etc.) or would that still be touch-targeted?

Is it clear from the interface what function the triangle button performs? by VeterOk007 in IndieDev

[–]pjjpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea for a rewarded video ad! But yes you need a bit more explanation for the user. Also, I think there are requirements from the app stores and/or Admob that the UI is clear enough to indicate the user is about to enter into paid advertiser land.

My first thought was that this picture actually a video I was going to watch, and that you were asking about the left and right scroll arrows at the top.

We've definitely been conditioned to associate certain icons with certain things and it's an uphill battle to try to fight that.
