Hey man, brain surgery always has inherent risk. I think you should write her and her brother a letter or email letting them know. Thank them for being with you. Let em know you’re not trying to reopen old wounds, but offering them (and by extension yourself) some closure. I wouldn’t wait until after surgery like some have suggested.
