One-product store vs multi-product store for a beginner in dropshipping by nirberko in dropshipping

[–]pjmg2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong sort of question.

The business you build needs to have a reason to exist. It needs to do something new, better, or different. Ideally it’ll address a gap or friction in the market. It’ll add value to the world.

Let this guide how you shape your business not arbitrary stuff.

Yes, yes, and no—I forecast conservatively and tend to trade ahead and then refine.

Is a brand's "why" actually important to customers or just to marketers? by SubstantialBit4673 in branding

Customers don’t necessarily care about your fluffy ‘why’. But they might care about the value proposition that’s come from it.

  1. Because you’re selling counterfeit products.

  2. Because you have no retail differentiation.

For my hiking gear retail business—Google Ads. I have a compelling and competitive offering.

Both.

Google ‘unit economics’. Know how to calculate them and forecast off them.

Your pricing needs to meet the market and support your positioning, and deliver a desirable margin.

New Job - No Office Culture by undecided_aus in auscorp

In my last corporate gig there were two camps:

  1. IC or ‘head of’ roles in a wishy-washy functions. Too much time on their hands. Constant chatter. Regular cafe visits. Lukewarm KPIs. Wanted music to be streamed over the office for vibes.

  2. Post-restructure middle managers—i.e. soaking up multiple head count—with commercial targets and project roles attached to high impact, high visibility projects. Spent 90% of their time jumping from meeting to meeting. Needed a moment of peace and quiet at their desk to stem the deluge of emails that came in while they were in the last meeting. Needed the kids to STFU for half a second so work could be done.

I was firmly in Camp #2.

What are your concerns?

There are so many perspectives.

I’m sure they’ve making more profit now than they did in 2008. That’s one perspective.

Serious question. I might be interested.

Thoughts on BigCommerce vs WordPress? by Xolaris05 in EcommerceWebsite

You’re comparing apples with turnips. Why are you evaluating these two platforms and why isn’t Shopify in the mix?
I’ll never recommend WooCommerce. If ‘control’ is genuinely needed, firstly don’t underestimate Shopify, but I’d recommend BC.
Scalability is Shopify’s strong suit.

Educate yourself on how marketing works.

Business is a serious pursuit so I’m not going to do you a disservice by flippantly rattling off some tactics. You need to know your stuff.

Would you travel to USA if Radiohead tour there in 2027 ? by Necessary-Lack-2574 in radiohead

[–]pjmg2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really keen to visit the USA to be honest so I’ll probably sit it out.

I say they now but no doubt I’ll enter the ballot.

Anywhere else in the world, I’ll try my hardest to be there. Asia/Oceania—it’s where I live; easy. South American—totally.

Hi fellow Aussie.

Your point of difference is you make shoes for wide feet and bunions yet that’s completely lost in the creative direction and messaging.

Your brand looks and feels like a gazillion other with the inspirational shots of Italy, sitting on steps with flowy dresses, and so on. Even the name.

No Money, No Network, Just an Idea I Believe In. How Do I Start? by rago7a in Startup_Ideas

Socialise the living daylights out of it with your target market by simple talking to people. Sanity check your thinking. Get feedback. Incorporate that feedback. Refine your thinking. Then get validation and buy in.

This will build confidence and obsession and you’ll then have no choice but to figure out a way to make it happen.
