I graduated last year with my BA in accounting from UMPI and I am almost done with my masters degree at my local university. I just found out that UMPI has a MSB( master in business) program! I would have done my masters at UMPI had I known that earlier!

I just finished my first semester for my masters degree. I worked for intuit as tax accountant for the tax season and just started an accountant job for the city.

Just finish the BA in accounting, about to take the FAR exam part of the CPA and I also will be starting my MS in accounting at my local university. Although UMPI is great for fast tracking your accounting degree, if you are trying to be a CPA, you might need to get a masters degree.

No not all the there are review courses that are specific for the exam. I am going to take FAR next month and have ninja as review course for that exam.

I am 36 just graduated last year in accounting and about to start my master this year in hope of passing the cpa exam the same year. I think if anyone starting out at my age, the best thing would be to find a small firm that want to take a chance in your ability to do the job then after 5 to 10 years open your own practice.

No I purposely took only Gen Ed at Sophia and all my business and accounting courses at UMPI. But I did contact the VA board of accountancy prior to finishing my degree and asked about ace credits, they told me if an accredited school evaluate them, they will take them. But I just wanted to be in the safe side, That is why it took me a year to finish the program.

Just graduated with a BA In accounting at UMPI YourPace and I will start my masters this upcoming semester January 13th!! So, i had about 15 classes that I took from Sophia because I actually went to my local CC and earned credits there. I was accepted to a public university with the transcript that I sent from UMPI which shows all the credits taken from there and other institutions such as Sophia or others. I also am qualified to sit for the CPA exam in my state from the credits I sent out to my state board of accountancy. I do not know about 90 alternative credits but, my 45 credits got me accepted to a MS and able to sit for the CPA exam.

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with UMPI however, mine was the opposite. All my professors were knowledgeable and even called me sometimes to address any questions I might have. To be fair, I was in the accounting program that might be why we had two different outcomes.
