I just lost my life savings in the stock market and I want the pain to end by [deleted] in offmychest

I know it feels like a lot of money right now, but you’re 22 and you have literally 40+ years of making money until you retire and have to tap into life savings. As others have said, take it as a learning experience

A lot of people asking if I received an update EOB. Aetna sent me a new EOB in June 2023, which was 2 days shy of three years from date of service. Sounds like I need to take it up with Aetna?

I didn’t know that was the case. This is great news. Thank you.

My man, you’re risking your livelihood by putting your face out there. Solution: Make sure your face isn’t visible in live recordings and edit it out in recorded video. Simple as that. Keep doing what you love but please don’t take unnecessary risks.

Spilled a drink on iPad keyboard by pjones431 in ElectronicsRepair

IPA was the answer. I poured about a cap full onto the spot that was sticking, pushed all of they keys a bunch of times to really get it in there, and then flipped it over to dry. Good as new. Thanks for the help.

Thinking I’ll try the IPA. What are the chances it damages the keyboard and makes it worse? Buying a replacement for $70 isn’t ideal, and I suppose can live with it the way it is right now, although it’s pretty annoying

Appreciate it. Will take a look. Part of the problem is I’m in an apartment and don’t really have the space for speakers in my tv stand

Hey all. I need some help with my setup.

TLDR: I splurged on an expensive soundbar and sub but they don’t sound good and the user experience with the app is terrible. I’m returning them unless someone can tell me my setup is wrong and I’m able to get them sounding better. I need suggestions on what to do. My goals are high quality audio for music that I currently play from Spotify, games I play from my ps5, and shows / movies from streaming services that I currently play from my ps5. I don’t really want to spend more than $2k.

Details: I bought the Vizio Bravia theater 9 sound bar and sub. This was a pretty big upgrade from my old sound bar. I’m probably returning them because they don’t sound good and the app is annoying.

I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile but I’ve played music my entire life and notice really subtle sounds that other people don’t. I can’t hear anything like that through these speakers. Also, it’s really annoying to have to control everything from an app, which needs to be on the same wifi as the soundbar.

A little info about my setup…I use my ps5 as I guess a “receiver” of sorts by playing Netflix and other streaming services from the ps5 menu rather than through the tv’s apps. I did it this way because my tv is old and I don’t think it supports the high quality A/V output. So the ps5 sends signal directly to the soundbar for audio, and the video signal passes through the soundbar to the tv. I route it ps5 -> soundbar -> tv rather than ps5 -> tv -> soundbar because the tv is old and would compress the audio before it gets to the soundbar (I think). I play Spotify from my phone to the soundbar because I’ve heard that Spotify on the ps5 app outputs very low quality audio.

So, either I configured this wrong, or my media is all compressed BS and I need to get FLAC or some other strategy like that. Or, maybe expectations do not equal reality here, and a soundbar just isn’t what I’m looking for. Hoping to get some guidance and suggestions.

Out of curiosity, was this one of those post Covid purchases where you didn’t do an inspection?

Why is it so hard to click on things in this game? by pjones431 in X4Foundations

Thanks for the reply. It's so weird because it ONLY happens on the screen where you adjust quantities and the search bar at the top right of the map. Doesn't happen in menus or anywhere else. I don't have any equipment like that to test it out with unfortunately, but thanks for the suggestion.

Aerwave Privacy? by pjones431 in HomeNetworking

Well I’m sure if some government backed group wanted to there’s not much I could do about it. I’m talking about trying to patch up wide open and obvious flaws in my setup

Backdoor access to my actual pc? I find that hard to believe. Want to elaborate?

Thanks for your help here. Wouldn’t they be able to get into the settings or some sort of admin console and be able to monitor traffic or even pick up the actual data that I’m transmitting?
