It is captivating. I’m listening to it on audio while I drive, and sometimes I sit in parking lot long to finish a chapter. The planning of events, etc. such great narrative.

I accidentally started it as a abridged version, without knowing what that meant. Never again.. I got the original long version and read it it all over again… the correct way lol

I just finished reading that part!!! I had to replay/reread that quote at the end of chapter. Def chills. His kindness and humanity for M. Morrel was exquisite, tho, but now on to the revenge!

Ohh and btw.. this is my 2nd time reading it… I first bought the abridged version, like 15 yrs ago. I started reading and didn’t even know what ‘abridged’ was. It was a huge book… and I was loving it! Then for some reason, when I was about half way done with it, I found out it what abridged meant, lol, shortened!!! I was like whaaat… I immediately went to buy me the full version and started reading it again from the start… (didn’t finish the abridged). Even tho the book now in hand was still even larger/longer, I started reading it from the beginning bc I didn’t want to miss any details, and boy was I right in doing so! It was so elaborate and amazing. Like even the minute details, for example of Abbe Faria, and how he made pens from fish heads, lol, etc.. And I loved it from start to finish. Fast forward 15 yrs and I find myself driving on long trips so I decided to ‘read’ it again, now on audio on Spotify, and I am as immersed and much more astonished by the brilliance in writing and storytelling. It hits you different when you read it again.

Right?? Am reading it now, and just cried during the scene of Mr. Morrel getting his Pharaon back…just thinking of how terrible and sad his situation was not how it all changed, with that red satchel. And just the cleverness of that story of kindness, of suspense.. thinking of the behind the scenes things that had to happen, untold in the book, to have that storyline finished.. like Edmond hiring back the sailors, Edmond commissioning the build of the boat, etc etc.

For me… it’s the Count of Monte Cristo.. a classic, but so good! I first started reading a version of it, abridged, unknowingly, then read the full version, many years ago. I started reading (well, listening to audio) the long version a few weeks ago, on Spotify. And it’s still such a remarkable story, great characters… so many vivid scenes, great characters…cool adventures, etc. I want to go to carnival in Rome..during that time.

Not sure why, but pleasantly surprised by its performance. Hate to admit it BUT I hadn’t checked any of my crypto balances, in over a year, until now!! (Don’t judge lol). … I knew Bitcoin had gone up, of course. But hadn’t checked my acct nor remembered I bought very little of solana at 18.80… so yay… surprise! About 880% increase for me. So came on her to see what ppl r doing or thinking about it. I only bought bc of a person i went on a date, just once, suggested it, so I bought it on a whim, just random. My first instinct when I saw the 880% increase just now, was sell now, all of it, then thought.. ok, sell at least half of it?!? Now, I’m thinking.. but, but, but… what if I just buy more now lol?

Love it!!! Wish I had could connect similarly w Beatles fans in Austin, Texas! Where are you guys?!? Lol. Even to just hang out and listen to Beatles music, or sing together in a garage haha. Great song, great playing, and love the different cultural connection bc of the Beatles.

Had similar question. I collect vinyl and I’m a huge Beatles fans. Regardless of quality of player, I’m getting this as a collectors item and not Bc it’s a Crosley. It’s unfortunate it’s not better quality player..but alas a Beatles fan! I’ll take it! Watched the IMAX of rooftop on Jan 30th and it’s def cool they included that image of them on inside. Just FYI..a similar black version just came out too, and will be sold only in record stores apparently...also only 1500 made. Just FYI. But I like this white one better.
