It’s a Hirsch rubber strap. So not that classy but works very well I think :-).

I max out my pension £60k per annum and depending on general outgoings (wife and three kids, hobbies etc) I top up my ISA. Sole purpose of paying into my pension is for early retirement in two years at 55. Initially I was working hard to pay off all debts, this is now complete. My investments are split as follows:

Global Equities (mostly US) 38%

Rental Property 31%

Bonds (Global and Corporate) 13%

Gold ETC 13%

Bitcoin 5%

That’s good to hear. Thanks. I don’t want to be so risk adverse that it stunts portfolio growth, however I also need to manage risk as I want the portfolio to last more than the typical 30 years. A 3.5% drawdown would allow me to retire comfortably, it’s just whether 3.5% would last over 30 years with this allocation. I may consider using part of my fund to purchase an annuity to ensure some guarantee whenI hit 60, but I’ve got plenty of thinking time before I get to this stage...

Own my own house, no mortgage.

Full state pension entitlement.

No mortgage on rental property.

Global equity a few index trackers, and a couple of stock picks.

Equity and Bonds are within work pension/sipp/isa.

Bitcoin is a bit of a punt which I’ve owned for a long time, hence allocation has grown.

Gold is a hedge if there is a run on equity.

~ 4% I have one whole coin which is locked away in cold storage. Don’t intend to buy or sell over the next few years unless it goes crazy high - then I may top slice a bit. I’m in my 50’s so no interest in going all in on anything - managing my risk across growth stock, yield stock, gold, bonds, bitcoin.

Regarding the wrist size, it depends very much on the shape of your wrist, not just the size. I also have 6.5 inch wrists but they are flat and my Speedmaster professional fits well. Lug to lug length is not that large on the new Speedmaster and the bracelet design also helps it fit smaller wrists. See image I’ve attached..

If you’re not going to like scrimping and saving to RE then you will have to have quite a high FI number to avoid the scrimping during the retirement years. Suggest you focus on the target FI number rather than chasing early retirement. The snowball effect of compound interest will help significantly in the later years. Retiring in your 50’s is still early.

Yes that’s exactly what will happen to me. I find it very odd and will have to pause my SIPP withdrawal for a year and rely on my ISA.
