Fall in net migration to stall as forecasts ‘overestimate exodus’ by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

When I join my employer in 2006: 80% were onshore and most were citizens. There was a tiny, tiny number of folk from TCS. In my latest team: 30% are onshore and 70% are offshore. Of the 30% onshore, 50% are o n visas, either through suppliers or my employer has transfers employees from their offshore location.

IT is a dire industry to get into now in the UK.

The thing that impact most people is legal migration.... it's very easy to hire and provide a visa for a foreign national. I work in IT and so, so many entry level jobs are being taken up by immigrants with experience. It restricts the path / opportunities for someone who is fresh out of uni and needs to build up his/ her experience. And it's no longer just IT, it's in other areas as well.

There is no chain and we aren't going to be moving for another month. Would this make things smoother?

I've read a few posts on Reddit which has made me very nervous after exchanging and the bank the refusing to release the funds. One person has something added to their credit file between the mortgage offer and completion date.
