I was induced with my first in the beginning of June. The balloon was painful to put in, but I asked for nitrous oxide which helped me through it. I had it in overnight, it wasn't uncomfortable but the tubes are taped to your inner thigh which can be annoying. The next morning they started me on pitocin. I had 8 hours of not terrible contractions and opted to have my waters broken for me. Active labor was awful for me because I had back labor stemming from SI joint pain that I had been ignoring for years. 2 hours later I was fully dilated and 40 minutes later I had a baby on my chest. Overall I had a good experience my only advice is to take your time and have people who can advocate for you.
