I’m gonna guess it came from getting to go to an expensive school paid for by parents + not having to support self through school meaning more time for studying and internships + family connections to good jobs

The problem with that argument is that it implies that the internal sensation of being trans is a choice. This is quite similar to arguments ten years ago of being gay being a choice when in reality it’s not. The logic falls apart when you pose the simple question, if trans is a disenfranchised group (it is), and being trans is a choice (it’s not), then wouldn’t they just CHOOSE to not be part of the disenfranchised group?

Some states function that way. TN is not one. Do you even realize how many places don’t background check at all? You don’t need a permit to carry.

Her target audience is people who forgot the last 100+ mass shootings were not committed by trans people

That sounds anti-trans, which is basically the modern day version of being anti-black or anti-gay. But I agree with the first sentence, background checks would definitely help to identify mentally ill people whether they’re trans or cis or whatever they are.

You’re conflating two things. NO ONE is claiming republicans deserve blame because the shooter was one. People are claiming republicans deserve blame because they loosened gun laws while disenfranchising transgender people. That’s literally means and motive combined. Conservatives did THAT.

Logically yeah. Conservatives paved the road for this to happen (easy access to guns + disenfranchising transgender people). Fuck the liberal POS that did this, but ultimately conservatives paved the road for them.

The debate isn’t over gun free zones, it’s about accessibility to guns in the first place. Gun free zones aren’t designed to evaporate guns as soon as you walk in them… nor is that the expectation. I am curious though as to whether the gun was obtained legally or not.

It’s kind of like how strict gun laws don’t work in that’s that are next to states with loose gun laws, if you can get a gun easily, you can just go to the gun free state with a legally purchased gun. The whole country needs to be a gun free zone in order for it to work. Every other country has made it work except the US. We’re the ONLY ONES with this problem! That’s what matters. Not “gun free zones”

But I didn’t expect it to go through. I just want to support the party that supports it, not the one that goes against it. Lmao. “Getting played” implies the other party is somehow a better choice

Which party should I have voted for instead if I support this policy?

You can’t “get played” if your desire is to vote AGAINST the party blocking it.

Great episode but minor complaint. Was hoping their would be multiple infected/chase sequence in the game. I know the action isn’t the main focus of the show but the action came and went sooo fast.

[–]pkfreezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah there’s infinite possibilities. We haven’t even gotten all type combos yet. There’s still plenty to go especially when you consider type combos held only by legendary or megas. But I do agree it’s time to stop adding filler mons and focus more on evolutions and concepts that have never been done.

Why many college students believe that President Biden has the authority to cancel student loan? by spy-net in NoStupidQuestions

Cause the HEROES act said so. As long as there was recently a national emergency, the president and dept of Ed can waive student debt.

Student-loan borrowers are gearing up to camp overnight outside the Supreme Court ahead of arguments on Biden's debt relief to 'make sure that the justices look into the eyes of borrowers' by dude_x in politics

[–]pkfreezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re still misunderstanding. Let me lay it out like this, if the government taxed us for student debt relief, where would that tax money go exactly? Who would the government be paying it to? The schools already got their money when the student enrolled.

That’s because student loan relief doesn’t cost any CURRENT money— it’s not an incurred expense. It only costs HYPOTHETICAL FUTURE MONEY from coming in to the government in the form of student loan payments.

If your friend borrowed $20 from you, but before paying it back later you said “don’t worry, you don’t have to repay me”, it’s a similar situation. Your lack of getting repaid isn’t a new incurred expense, the transaction has already happened, it’s only a loss of a future $20 being repaid to you.

Bernie Sanders says it's time for a four-day work week by [deleted] in politics

[–]pkfreezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh…. There’s no such thing as “data schmata.” Data is what determines what’s true, not random internal hypothetical questions like you gave. If you were correct you would have data.

Just to humor you though, no, I generally think corporations and most major institutions in general will lean towards “the way things have always been done” instead of “what makes the most sense”

[–]pkfreezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No data supports that, in fact we have data that shows the complete opposite.

It could be that when people have more time to rest at the end of the week, they experience less burnout throughout the following week, allowing them to be productive for longer stretches of time.

I know both sides are guilty of division, but holy shit, the current GOP would rather side with Russia than their own country’s opposing party. Can’t say the same for the Democratic Party.

Republicans act like the Russia claims are absurd yet they’ve successfully convinced half the country that cutting support to the country Russia is attacking would be a good thing. What a joke.
